New Abbey have won the Stewartry Bowling Association League, with the presentation of the trophy at a later date.

New Abbey will now represent the Stewartry in the District 31 League Play Off, against the winners of the Dumfries and District League.

The game will be played at New Abbey on Friday 24th July.

On completion of today’s Ladies Pairs competition President Barbara Kimm thanked all for supporting the tournament, giving thanks to the Ladies in the kitchen and to Alan for attending to the green, also thanking GOODFILLERS for sponsoring the tournament.

Barbara then announced the prize winners as follows:

Winners D Cochrane and E Russell (Dalbeattie) , runners up A Tait and D Anderson (Dalbeattie), third placed M Connelly and K Peacock (Marchmount) .

Debbie thanked New Abbey for hosting the tournament and gave thanks to the kitchen for the hospitality provided.

The Ladies Pairs Competition is underway, with a entry of 20 pairs playing three sections of 8 ends.

New Abbey have been playing today at Maxwelltown Bowling Club’s OK Geddes Open Mixed American Triples Competition, which was sponsored by Heathhall Garden Centre.

Keith Christine and Wullie were winners of the trophy 🏆, which was presented by club president Chris Slater.

Keith thanked Maxwelltown for hosting the competition together with the kitchen staff and green keeper for their work undertaken, finishing with thanks to the sponsors,

New Abbey played their penultimate league game at home last night against Auchencairn, who won the game 8 - 4.

New Abbey remain top of the league and play their final game this Tuesday (9th June) away to Creetown starting at 7pm.

The final games of the league results in the top three teams having a chance of winning the league.
