A little info on the steering set up. Using a standard Land Rover Discovery 2 Adwest steering box which has been sent to .burgess.581 to have the torsion bar machined making the steering lighter to turn, whilst this is done Jake uprates the seals & fits a billet machined seal retaining plate, also modifying the solid bypass pipe by replacing it with a flexible braided hose & fittings. Both the upper & lower steering columns are standard Discovery 2 which have been cut slightly shorter to make room for a 1.5:1 steering quickner which has been mounted in a modified D2 lower bearing housing. This set up is designed so that if needs be, it can all be quickly removed & directly replaced with a standard un-modified Discovery 2 column set up. The steering bars & steering damper are heavy duty D2 variants. A custom bracket has been made to directly mount the damper to the steering drop arm in order to give damping directly at the steering box & keeping the damper working in a fixed linear position. The axle ends have also been cut & rotated to give increased castor angle for better turn in, handling & response.

A little information about the transmission used in the Offender. The gearbox is Land Rover Discovery 2 R380 with the Quaife Engineering Morgan +8 straight cut gear set. The box was sent to Tom at Wi******er Gears to be overhauled with bigger uprated bearings & a mixed selection of Baulk Rings best suited to the application. The transfer box is a Milner Offroad Teardrop (Simmbugghini) reverse rotation type with interchangeable ratio drop gears, to which I now own the rights to. This box has had several improvements over the original & now runs stronger straight cut gears & has a larger capacity with quick access front cover. The reverse rotation is required in order to correct the drive because the engine is now in the rear with the gearbox output reversed. This also means that the gear selection is back to front, which has been overcome by developing a reverse mechanism for the Defender type gear selector.

Bit of info on the engine build: Range Rover P38 4.6l Thor V8 60D with 2 Garrett M27 .48A/R turbos & Forge Motorsport 10psi actuators, V8 Developements top hat lined block & bottom end internally line balanced, AE low compression pistons with valve notches, Real Steel DW big valves & high rev lifters, 2” phenolic inlet manifold spacer, Bosch 315cc flow matched injectors, Modified & baffled GEMs sump & oil pick up, Modified TVR Chimera exhaust manifolds, Front housings & ancillaries from Discovery 2 V8, FlowKooler water pump, custom spark leads with Funk Motorsport heat protection socks.

Repaired & Replaced The Damaged Plug Leads & Fit Them With Heat Protective Titanium Socks & Lead Sleeve. Hopefully Cure My Melty Plug Cap Issue 🤞🏻
