This week, we proudly celebrate National Volunteer Week by shining a spotlight on the incredible people who make Neath Sea Cadets the vibrant, inspiring unit it is.
Our volunteers (uniform, non uniform and UMT) are the heart of everything we do — from teaching skills and building young people’s confidence, to giving up evenings, weekends, and countless hours behind the scenes.

Their dedication helps shape the next generation, giving our cadets opportunities they’ll carry with them for life.

You don’t just support our unit — you inspire it.

Congratulations to our Officer in Charge, PO (SCC) Collette Gorvett, who travelled to Tameside Sea Cadet Corps this weekend to complete her Chief Petty Officer Promotion Board.
We are delighted to share that she has successfully passed and has now been promoted to Chief Petty Officer (SCC).
This is a fantastic achievement and a well-deserved recognition of her hard work, dedication, and leadership. We are all incredibly proud—well done!

🚣‍♂️🌊 West Wales District Combined Regatta 2026 🌊🚣‍♀️

Today our cadets took on the West Wales District Combined Regatta, competing in both paddlesports and sliding seat rowing – and what a fantastic set of results! 👏

Paddlesports 🛶
🥇 Konrad – 1st, Time Trial K1 (Junior Boys)
🥇 Harri & Sebastian – 1st, Time Trial K2 (Junior Boys)
🥇 Konrad – 1st, K1 Sprint (Junior Boys)
🥇 Harri & Sebastian – 1st, K2 Sprint (Junior Boys)
🏅 Overall Paddle Team – 3rd Place

This weekend, our Detachment Commander, CPO (SCC) Williams, has been at Crickhowell Army Camp completing Fieldcraft 1.1 training.
The weekend included some great hands-on experience, from sleeping in a bivvy and cooking on field stoves, to practising stalking techniques and learning how to get close to the “enemy”.
A fantastic and challenging weekend building valuable skills and experience 👏
We are also currently recruiting adult volunteers for the Royal Marine Cadets.

Another fantastic night with Neath Sea Cadets!

Our cadets got stuck into outdoor activities and an exciting scavenger hunt — teamwork, confidence and plenty of fun all rolled into one evening.
