Are we being trained to lack confidence in our own judgment?

With all the data, warnings, and general fear p**n out there, it’s hard to have discernment.

What’s real and what’s designed to scare us is getting more and more blurred.

It’s essential that you make your own judgments based on correct information, and that you know what that information means.

If you look at warnings and don’t read into them, or experience different conditions, how do you know what they feel like?

You lose connection to the landscape and your part in it.

You lose confidence and the ability to decide for yourself.

Everyone has a different risk tolerance, but you won’t find out about yours if you never experience anything uncomfortable.

What do you think?

Personally I’d rather be outdoors even if the weather is bad!

After 3years of not racing I fancied doing something low key that I could achieve on my current training, and a 10k race fit the bill.
An added bonus was it was local and my husband wanted to do it too.
Remembering why I raced today, the community, the chance to push myself and a nice way to spend Sunday morning.
I appreciated today, and wasn’t too far off my target time.
My current training looks like this.
Running x 2 one easy and one interval run.
Swim x 1 generally easy 2k
Gym x 1 heavy weights when I’m not too tired/sore
Climbing x 3-4 varied sessions depending on how I feel.
It’s VERY different to when I was training for triathlons , it’s a different focus. It’s been strange pivoting, but I’m happy to still be able to perform.

If you’re training for an event, think about what makes you excited, and what keeps you focused.

Be flexible, and remember to be grateful for the opportunities you get.

We’re all lucky to be able to move and be active in whatever way makes you shine.
