Your cervical screening could save your life - don’t put it off.
Screening helps detect changes early, often before symptoms appear, making it one of the best ways to help prevent cervical cancer.
Book it, attend it, and encourage others to do the same

Introducing our 'Members of the Month' for May 🥰
This fabulous duo, Irene and Delia, were both recently starred in our local Nantwich paper for turning 90 and still attending the gym 💪
We always say that age is just a number and Irene and Delia prove this incredibly. They are an absolute joy to have on the circuit, with their wonderful humour, cheeky sparkle and energy. What an inspiration you both are and we thank you for being part of Gymophobics Nantwich
Well done ladies, keep up the great work 👏❤️

This Diabetes Awareness Week, let’s talk about the incredible impact movement can have on managing diabetes.
Regular exercise helps the body use insulin more effectively, supports healthy blood sugar levels, and can reduce the risk of long-term complications. Even gentle movement can make a real difference.
Being active can help:
💙 Lower blood sugar levels
💙 Improve insulin sensitivity
💙 Support weight management
💙 Boost circulation and heart health
💙 Increase energy and improve mood
💙 Reduce stress (which can also affect blood sugar)

For over 20 years, we’ve been helping women build confidence in fitness.

That’s always been at the heart of Gymophobics - creating a welcoming space where women feel comfortable to start, keep going, and progress at their own pace.

It’s not just about exercise, it’s about feeling supported, staying consistent, and growing in confidence along the way.
And that mission is just as important to us today as it was two decades ago.

Why is community important in fitness for women?

Because it’s easier (and a lot more enjoyable) to stay consistent when you’re not doing it alone.

We hear it all the time - ladies say “I almost didn’t come”… but they’re always glad that they did.

At Gymophobics, we have a ready-made community of women ready to step in and support you.

From your very first session, you’re not on your own. You’re surrounded by women who understand the journey, encourage each other, and help make showing up that little bit easier.

Why is resistance training so important for women?

Women face unique physiological changes across life - including lower baseline muscle mass than men, and significant shifts during perimenopause and menopause that can accelerate muscle and bone loss. This makes strength training especially important.

It helps support bone density (reducing the risk of osteoporosis) and builds and maintains lean muscle mass, which naturally declines with age. It also boosts metabolism, helping the body use energy and burn calories more efficiently, even at rest.

On top of that, it improves everyday strength and function - making daily tasks easier - and supports long-term health, independence, and vitality as we age.

It’s not about changing your body - it’s about strengthening it so it supports you through every stage of life.
