The new tennis season is almost upon us (although we play all year) and membership is open at Nantwich Tennis Club.

Whether you are a beginner, a bit rusty or a Roger Federer (or any level in between), you'll be made to feel very welcome at the club.

At the equivalent of only £3.27 per adult per week all in, it's an inexpensive way to enjoy social or competitive tennis.*

The membership year runs 1st April to 31st March and annual fees are:
Adult - £170
Juniors (Age over 8 up to 18 on 1 Jan 2026) - £41
Full Time Students (under 25 years old on 1 Jan 2026 with valid student ID) - £55
Mini Junior (under 8 years old on 1 Jan 2026) - £25
Family membership (2 adults + children) - £340 + 50% of junior membership for each child

*The adult price equates to only £3.27 per week and includes floodlights and up to 7 court bookings of up to 2 hours per week. Annual fee is due in full.

Today we named our clubhouse The Ron Smith Pavilion in memory of past president Ron Smith, who passed away last spring aged 91. The plaque was unveiled by his wife, Pam.

Ron was president of the club for over 20 years and during his presidency, the club made significant strides in its development, growing from 4 courts to 6, floodlighting all courts and introducing the astroturf surface.

Ron also played a key role in securing the purchase of our land which previously the club had rented from Cheshire East, ensuring security and stability of the club for future generations. The building of our present clubhouse to replace the wooden ‘shed’ was another significant development in which Ron was actively engaged.

Ron’s dedication to tennis was recognised by the Cheshire LTA when in 2016 he received the County Lifetime Award. Following this the Cheshire LTA put his name forward for the National LTA Meritorious award and this was presented to him at Wimbledon in July 2016 by the LTA President.

Nantwich Ladies A won the SMC Summer Ladies knockout last night beating Hartford Ladies A in the final. A fantastic night of tennis with some marathon games throughout the night involving all doubles couples !! Possibly the longest we’ve all ever been on court in a league match situation!
Winning team on the night : Emily Parker, Helen Rogers, Sue Winters and Rachel Turner ( Ladies A cpt). A big shout to Diane Mayman ( Ladies B cpt) who played her socks off for NTC Ladies A in the previous rounds against Hartford B and Congleton A. A big thanks to Di, Heather, Mike and Rachel’s Mum and Dad for their support!
NTC Ladies A have won the double this year winning the SMC Ladies Division 1 league title too last month!
A massive thank you to all players that represented NTC Ladies A this year in the SMC league: Emily Parker, Helen Rogers, Sue Winters, Lin Wood, Caroline Harrison and Rachel Turner (cpt). What a season well done all.💪👏🎾
