🟡⚫️ NCCFC U12s @ the Wallace Cup ⚫️🟡

What an incredible day for our 2014s at the Wallace Cup, played in the shadow of the magnificent Wallace Monument.

The boys faced five tough matches throughout the day and showed lots of determination and composure from start to finish. For many of the them, this was their first experience of 11v11 football but they adapted really well.

There were some excellent performances across the pitch with great movement both on and off the ball. We saw plenty of teamwork and some fantastic goals to celebrate along the way. Most importantly, the players embraced the occasion, worked hard for each other and represented Nairn superbly.

A huge well done to all the lads for their effort, attitude and commitment throughout the tournament. You should be very proud of yourselves.

Finally, thank you to all the mums, dads and families whose support made the trip possible. Days like these create memories that will stay with the players for years to come.

Well done boys!

Well played, lads!

It was brilliant to be invited through to Inverness to play at the new ICT Community Hub.

Pitches were fantastic!

The boys played 8 x 12 min games against some familiar foes in Forres, Buckie and Strathspey, as well as playing the home team ICT.

Conditions were not great, considering we are in mid-June.

At the festival, the boys did fantastic after losing Travis due to illness. All the boys had to dig in and play every minute.

They played some excellent stuff, and we were treated to some amazing finishing from the team.

Most pleasing was our final encounter with the home side. The boys were amazing, and the spirit and determination they showed made their coaches proud!

Keep it up lads⚽️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⚽️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⚽️

What a day for football on Saturday. Pretty sure some of the boys have been drier coming out of the swimming pool than they were after these games! Torrential rain would be an understatement!

The pitches were incredibly small, which presented a fresh challenge for the players to manage, and at the end of the day it's the same size pitch for both teams! The result was that our rotating keepers had to be alert each and every time an opponent was on the ball. When we were in possession, our players shot each and every time that they created a pocket of space - which was a frequent event!

Jamie was a rock, whether in goals or playing at the back, and quite possibly prevented as many goals today as we scored - which is quite a claim!

Rudi was relentless, playing with confidence, and taking his role seriously - no matter where he played. His clever touches, twists and turns were an outlet for much of our forward play.

Callum and Euan played in sync, showing deft touches, ball control that at times defied logic and they were a constant forward threat - with their goals the result of their relentless determination.

Our goal machines today were Noah and Jackson. Top bins. Power shots. Tap ins. Thunderbolts.... again and again and again. Wow!

An entertaining, successful and soggy day in the office!

🟡⚫️ NCCFC U14s 5 - 2 ICT CD ⚫️🟡

Last night our U14s faced up to ICT Community Development in our home tie against Caley.

Caley started very well, with some nice footwork and great movement off the ball. It took our boys 5 mins to find their pattern - those 5mins felt like it could be a hard night for the boys until we found our rhythm. Oscar and James started to assert their control over the centre midfield, moving the game out of our defensive area and let us get the ball moving forward into our front 3 where we started to look more comfortable. On a well worked break, Caley broke into our box where Fraser mis-judged his challenge and the ref pointed to the spot. There could be no complaint with this one, and Caley's man tucked his penalty away despite Harry getting his finger tips on it.

From the re-start we broke our mould and went forward through a surging run from James who played Luca in on the left wing. Luca turned the defender and rolled a neat cut back into Oscar's feet who didn't need to be asked twice before curling his shot into the back post.

We were turning up the pressure with chances falling for the front 3 before a a great break by Caley and their young no. 5 got in behind our defence and slotted home a finish worthy of applause from both sides.

From the re-start we broke our mould (again) and went forward through another surging run from James. This time, the Caley centre-backs stood strongly before the ball broke on the edge of the box to Luca who stepped beyond the defence where his left footed shot was too much for the 'keeper and it was all square going into half time, despite Oliver and Olly's best efforts being thwarted by the post and a stubborn 'keeper.

We continued into the second half playing high, moving the ball well and keeping Caley under pressure. An in-swinging corner from James found Ollie - who was having a run out as striker - un-marked in the middle of the goal who made no mistake as he volleyed home to make it 3-2. Caley were not out of things and kept the pressure up, challenging Noah and our back 4. In an action replay of the 1st half, Ollie D was pulled down in the Caley box. Olly G stepped forward and fired his confident penalty home to make it 4-2. The game wasn't over though with Caley coming close before a neat counter saw Noah send James and Oliver behind the Caley defence where Oliver slotted in at the back post to make it 5-2.

Another great game against ICT CD played in great sport by both sides.

We haven't talked about Man of the Match in our reports, but this time, James' performance in his last league game was outstanding. Well done James 🏆

🟡⚫️ NCCFC U14s ⚫️🟡

On Saturday 6/6, our 14s took part in the Inverness Street League Summer 7s.

Our 2 teams are still mostly the young guns in the league but it was still a great experience for them. The games were high intensity, and played within 17 teams from across the league.

With no subs between the teams, it really was an all or nothing day for everyone playing in as much as 80 minutes of football.

Well done to Nairn County who won the U14s in a penalty shoot out against AC Balloan!

Huge thanks to James and Alexis for leading the teams out and to all of our travelling support 💪

(No photos on the day. We tried but the camera took one look and said no way!)

🟡⚫️ NCCFC U12s Lossiemouth Festival ⚫️🟡

Well done to this group of gentlemen today! It was a cracking morning for football and everyone played their part in delivering a full set of clean sheets and an unbeaten run of fixtures.

The spectators were treated to a series of tight games, with the players working incredibly hard for each other. Important saves, fancy footwork, good strikes and crucial tackles were all celebrated between the players in equal measure.

The team spirit and positivity was amazing, and when something didn't quite work out, the boys read the situation, tracked back and covered for each other without any hint of criticism. BRILLIANT - captains all over the pitch!

There will be just one more festival in Lossie before the summer (which those attending the Wallace Cup in Stirling will miss). That last Lossie fixture of the season will also be the last Lossie festival for our current P7s, so it is the end of an era for some. Many of the P7s have been taking part in the the Elgin and Lossie SFA festivals since they were in P1 or P2 - so it has played a huge part in their football development and hopefully provided lots of positive memories that will last a lifetime.
