8 goals in 3 days... Lewis hits 6!
Shortwood Reserves continued their impressive pre season with two excellent wins in three days. Following their 3-0 home win over Minchinhampton the Reserves faced County League Quedgeley on Thursday evening.
They fell behind to an early goal but Lennon Lewis headed home a Lewis Fogg cross to level after 31 minutes. Lewis then ran on to a Fogg through ball to put the Reserves 2-1 up just two minutes later and completed his hat trick before the break. The icing on the cake came in the last minute when Toby Colliver's cross went in..
the young guns performance was excellent and even more so because 4 of the U18 side played in the game.

And so onto Saturday when Chlaford sent there Reserves over to Meadowbank in the sweltering heat..
Again the young side, this time featuring 3 of the U18s. fell behind before Lewis Fogg fired them level. Lewis then fired an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net from 20 yards to give Wood the lead and bettered that strike just before the break to make it 3-1. Lewis completed his second hat - trick after the break before Chalford pulled one back at the death to make it 4-2.

The Reserves are certainly playing some attractive football under new manager Rich Cullimore and the club are utilising the U18's showing the progression of the club is there.

In other news the club are sad to see that Quedgely player Liam Thomas, who was taken ill in the game, had to be taken to Bristol Hospital for heart surgery. We wish Liam a speedy recovery and send him our very best wishes!
We alo send our best to Wood youngster Taylor Arnold who dislocated his knee against Chalford. Hope to see you back with us soon Taylor
