Nailsea & Backwell Touch Rugby The page of the Nailsea & Backwell Touch Rugby team. With mixed teams of all ages and abilities everyone is welcome to try out this great sport.

We look forward to meeting you. We run 3 sessions a week, each with a slightly different emphasis; Everyone is welcome to attend all sessions;

Monday is a competitive league held in Frenchay, Bristol;

Thursday is our ‘club’ night which is intended to give us an opportunity to develop our game play and offer more competitive games - minimum age is 16;

Friday is our development night where we

can deliver the game basics and inclusive games for all. Minimum age is 13

We have a coaching team lead by an England Touch coaching qualification, we also have a few England touch qualified referees

Nailsea continue to soar in League 1 with another high flying performance, cruising to an impressive 11–3 victory over Bristol Jets Touch Rugby to extend their winning streak and remain top of the table. From take off, Nailsea were in complete control, bringing relentless pressure, sharp finishing and a performance that kept the Jets grounded throughout. Bristol battled hard and found the try line three times, but Nailsea’s attacking firepower proved too much as they stayed firmly in the pilot’s seat until the final whistle. With their engines running at full power, confidence climbing and momentum building, Nailsea are flying high as the team to beat in League 1.

Ravens battled their way to a hard-fought victory over Wu Tang Clan, showing incredible focus, resilience and composure under pressure to secure the win. In a closely contested clash, Ravens stayed locked in when it mattered most, keeping their heads and finding the moments needed to come away with the result. The victory sees Ravens climb up to 4th place in League 2

Big wins for both teams on Monday night in the Bristol Touch League!

Nailsea faced one of their toughest tests of the season yet but clearly forgot to read the script. They raced into an early lead and although Tigers came roaring back in the second half, Nailsea slammed the cage door shut and held on for the win. Four points in the bag and they're still sitting proudly at the top of Division 1!

Ravens turned up with youthful legs, endless energy, and absolutely no intention of slowing down. Anchors tried to stay afloat, but Ravens made sure they remained exactly where their name suggests on the seabed. The win launches Ravens into 4th place in Division 2!

Despite a strong effort and a 2nd half fight back touching me, touching you's speed on attack proved to much for the ravens

What a day at our first Mixed Nationals!

We finished with three wins, one draw, and two losses, and were competitive in every game, keeping the score margins tight throughout the tournament.

Player of the Day goes to Imogen Caunter, who was outstanding in the link position. She drove superbly to create excellent scoring opportunities and was equally impressive defensively with a solid all-round performance.

A huge thank you as well to all the parents for driving, supporting, and cheering us on throughout the day. Your help and encouragement made a real difference!

After the Bank Holiday break, the Bristol Touch Summer League is back this evening. Hopefully everyone has remembered where they left their boots and hasn't completely replaced touch rugby with BBQs and naps.

In Division 1 Nailsea are facing Hornets in a top of the table clash while in Division 2, 2nd place Ravens are facing 3rd place Touching me, Touching You!

After a week off, some players will be fresh and raring to go. Others will discover that "staying active" over the Bank Holiday meant walking to the fridge slightly more often than usual.
