š£A little announcement š£
After a lot of thought, I made the difficult decision that my time at Nafferton Recreation Club has come to an end. I will be working up until the 24th of September then my role will be handed over too capable handsā¦..
This certainly hasnāt been an easy decision. Due to personal circumstances and the demands on my time, I no longer feel that I can give the Recreation Club everything that it needs and deserves.
I feel that now is the right time for me to hang up my boots!
I am incredibly proud of the time I have spent at the Recreation Club and of what I have been able to give since the facility was built. It has been a huge part of my life, and I have genuinely loved being involved.
I have had the privilege of organising and being part of so many fantastic and successful events, and through the Recreation Club I have met so many wonderful people and really felt part of the village. I have also loved being able to help people celebrate some of the most important moments in their lives from weddings and christenings to saying goodbye to loved ones at funerals. All of these events have meant so much to me.
One thing that makes me particularly happy and proud is setting up Warm Space, which is now known as Friday Friendship. Seeing it continue to run and watching the friendships that have grown from it has been incredibly rewarding. Knowing that it has helped combat loneliness for some of our residents and given people somewhere to come, have a cuppa, chat and feel connected means a great deal to me.
I have always tried my very best for Nafferton Recreation Club, and I am grateful to everyone I have had the pleasure of working alongside over the years. I also want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported me, encouraged me, helped me, attended the events, volunteered, joined in and simply made my time there so enjoyable.
The Recreation Club is a fantastic facility for our village, and I hope everyone continues to support it and help it thrive. Although my role is coming to an end, my love for the place certainly isn't. I will continue to support the Recreation Club wherever I can in my own spare time.
So, with a very full heart, I would simply like to say thank you.
Thank you for the memories, the laughter, the hard work, the busy days, the events, the friendships and for allowing me to be such a big part of something that means so much to our village.
It has been an absolute pleasure.
