🎉 All Welcome

After just over three months sailing anticlockwise around the UK, we are delighted to invite you to celebrate the completion of the Full Circle voyage with Turn to Starboard and Invictus Games Birmingham 2027.

Since departing Falmouth on 17th March, two tall ships have sailed over 2,000 nautical miles around the UK coastline, visiting 22 ports and involving more than 70 serving and veteran members of the Armed Forces who are wounded, injured, or sick.

Delivered in partnership with Invictus Games Birmingham 2027, Full Circle has showcased the power of challenge, teamwork, and adventure to support recovery, rebuild confidence, and create lasting connections.

As Spirit of Falmouth and Pellew return home to Falmouth, join us in welcoming the crews back and celebrating this remarkable achievement.

A huge thank you to Pendennis Castle for kindly opening their gates free of charge for this special occasion.

Whether you’ve followed the voyage from the start or are hearing about it for the first time, everyone is welcome.

You've got to talk the talk..

⚓ Fun Nautical Facts 🌊

⚓ Did you know… the phrase “taken aback” comes from sailing ships? It described the moment the wind pushed the sails backwards, stopping the ship in its tracks! ⛵💨

⚓ Did you know… “three sheets to the wind” was originally a nautical term? The “sheets” were ropes controlling the sails if they came loose, the ship would wobble all over the sea! 🌊

⚓ Did you know… sailors used to say “show your true colours” because ships would sometimes fly fake flags before raising their real one just before battle? 🚩

⚓ Did you know… the word “starboard” comes from old ships being steered with an oar on the right-hand side? That’s why boats still pass port-to-port today! ⚓

⚓ Did you know… “pipe down” began as a naval command? A boatswain would play a whistle, or pipe, to signal sailors it was time for lights out and quiet below deck. 🌙

⚓ Did you know… the phrase “by and large” comes from sailing? It described a ship that could sail both into the wind (“by”) and with the wind (“large”). ⛵

⚓ Did you know… “slush fund” has nautical origins? Sailors used to sell leftover cooking fat known as slush to make extra money for treats ashore! 🍳⚓

We're pleased to highlight our affiliation with Little Ship Club Upper Thames Street and look forward to welcoming their members.
They have a great clubhouse on the bank of the Thames, so if you're in London pop in.
