Personal Training πŸ’ͺ

In a world where "skinny" is increasingly being normalised as the goal, and if I hear the word "shredded" one more time - we are not blocks of bloody cheese or torn lettuce!

Personal training isn't about a few quick sessions that magically change your life. It isn't about chasing the lowest number on the scales, comparing yourself to others, or striving and competing to be perfect.

For me, personal training is about understanding YOUR body.

It's about improving your physical and mental wellbeing. It's about respecting your body rather than punishing it.

There is NO perfect body. There is no finish line. There is only your journey, your progress, and the choices you make every day to look after yourself.

My role as a Personal Trainer is not to change who you are. It is to make you realise what you already have, how to build on that and become more confident in yourself rather than the latest Instagram fad.

My clients Jenny and Fiona are prime examples (all my clients are excellent examples to be clear). πŸ‘‡

Fiona has been with me since October 2023. 3 years of training. She has grown so much fitter and stronger. Her training is now taking into account the next stage of hormonal life. Adapting, preparing and understanding the stages of peri/menopause.

Jenny has been with me since November 2025. I don't think she will mind me saying, she wasn't really much into exercise (not uncommon). Having joined me, starting with basic lifting she is now 7 months in, on the big barbell lifting, AND attending 2-3 of my group exercises per week as well as incorporating some home workouts and hiking with her boys.

We all have different lifestyles, different ages, likes and dislikes, so why cannot we not accept that our bodies are different?

Is it long enough, is it intense enough, is it beneficial.

Yes, yes, yes. You can if you want, but you don't need to spend hours working out to build strength. What you need is a plan, consistency in attendance and self-accountability. What you put in to your workout is exactly what you will get out.

No two people are the same. There are 6 of us here. Each lifting different size Kettlebells. Each doing the movement at our own ability. Some of us may already have DOMS from previous workouts, some of us may not have had a good sleep, some of us may have not eaten properly, some of us may be hydrated, tired or had a bad day at work. Some of us may be stressed, some of us may just be exhausted.

Point I am making is. Every week may feel easy to some, harder to others, quicker or longer. We are all different. The only thing the same is we turn up each week to better our health mentally and physically.

We may be a small group but if I can change their approach to training - I have impacted someone (for the right reasons). ❀

Just because my job involves exercise doesn't mean it is any easier to motivate myself.

I have been quite burnt out the last few weeks, mentally and physically. My confidence has dipped and sometimes I just want to be left alone.

I am not the best at running but I find it calming and helps me focus. Little bit of nature, peace and exercise doesn't solve everything but can just help with a slight reset.

It's Tuesday. It's just me and my buddy πŸ₯°
