🌊 Cornish Nipper Champs 2026 🌊
Mullion SLSC absolutely shone at the Cornish Nipper Championships this weekend at Carlyon Bay. Our mighty team of 22 Nippers joined a record 630 competitors from across Cornwall and what a weekend they created.
Despite not having enough to participate in many of the relay events, we amassed an incredible 219 points, finishing 12th out of 17 clubs, climbing up the leaderboard over the last two years.
But the real triumph wasn’t the numbers … it was the heart. The teamwork, the sportsmanship, the courage, and the sheer joy pouring out of our Club events shelter made the whole beach buzz.
For many of our Nippers, this was their first ever time competing for the Club, and they were simply outstanding. They gave everything in every race, celebrated every success, stepped bravely out of their comfort zones, and cheered so loudly that voices were fading! Watching them lift each other higher was something truly special.
A huge thank you to our incredible adult helpers and officials. We provided so many volunteers that SLS Cornwall gave Mullion a special shout‑out over the tannoy on Sunday. You played a huge part in ensuring the whole weekend ran smoothly and safely.
Thank you to Surf Life Saving Cornwall for organising such a fantastic event, and to Carlyon Bay Surf Life Saving Club for being wonderful hosts once again.
