I have never lived further than 10 miles away from the sea. Growing up on the Isle of Wight, living most of my adult life near the coast in Hampshire and now near the Moray Firth, I’ve spent a large majority of my life in, on or by the sea. I’ve heard so many amazing stories about the lives saved by this fantastic organisation, and sad tales of the brave crew they’ve lost while trying help others. As a sea swimmer I feel safer knowing the RNLI are there to step in if things ever went wrong. That’s why for many years I’ve made regular monthly contributions and supported their fund raising efforts. Saving lives is a basic human responsibility. Please feel free unfollow me if you object to this.

Huge congratulations to my lovely Star ⭐ Badger 🦡 Andy Andy Bennett who has today achieved 365 consecutive days of open water dips!!!! I know it’s been a tough year but he did it despite the challenges and I’m incredibly proud of him. We’ve not managed to swim together yet but I hope we will do soon. Well done Andy!!! 🎉🤩🩵💙🩵

I’m incredibly lucky to live in a rural setting and the drive to the post box or post office is absolutely beautiful, sometimes it’s even more special than others ☺️💙

STAR ⭐ BADGER 🦡. This week my bright shiny star is the lovely Steph who I’ve had the pleasure of sharing a house with at the Go Swim Loch Tay and Loch Lomond events and will be next weekend at Loch Morlich with her fellow Stars from the NE, Dyane and Leanne. It’s be so great getting to know them all better, swimming, chatting and hanging out having fun. That’s exactly what Adventure Shenanigans is all about 🥰

Steph’s Story:
“There’s something about wild swimming that I absolutely love. 🥶💦🌿

The feeling of cold water, that incredible buzz when you get in, and then the sense of calm and relaxation that follows is hard to beat. Being surrounded by nature, taking in the peace, beauty and wildlife, gives me such an amazing feeling of freedom and happiness. 🦆🌊🍃

But it’s not just about the swimming. Along the way, I’ve met some truly amazing people and made some very special friends, which has made my wild swimming journey even more enjoyable and meaningful. ❤️

And of course, I can’t forget one of the fun parts — collecting my **Adventure Shenanigans badges!** 🏅😂 Each one is a little reminder of another adventure, another challenge, and another brilliant day spent making memories.

I got given a badge today!! 😁 “Shenanigans Coordinator”! How blooming marvellous. I was presenting the lovely Lexi her ‘one year of open water swimming’ badge when she surprised me with this fab gift. How gorgeous was that ☺️💙

Oh my goodness! What a wonderful weekend! I met so many of my fabulous badgers at the Loch Lomond event on Saturday. Lots of hugs, laughter, tears and chats. Celebrating swimming firsts, swim wins and new friendships. Getting to know new people and catching up with familiar faces. I didn’t get a photo with everyone but here are just a few of my brilliant badgers I managed to catch 😍💙
