Transferable skills & behaviours are what we coach!
Ben stopped rugby when he suffered two concussions close together. They gave him such a big scare and put him off the game. He moved into track cycling and has decided to focus his efforts on sprinting. In 2025 he narrowly missed out on becoming part of the British Cycling NSR, which is a squad of just four young riders selected from the whole of the UK talent pool. He has, however, been an invited rider who has attended all the training camps. This is a huge achievement as he was one of two invited riders across the season.
Heโs currently preparing for the Youth Track Nationals next week, He has submitted an application to be part of the British Cycling ODS squad - which is the Junior equivalent of NSR - and he is racing with Beeston Cycling Club.
I wanted to reach out to you though, because you helped him so much. You helped him to understand the importance of being a holistic athlete - from nutrition to training to mental wellbeing to sleep. You also gave him so much encouragement and support to become the very best version of himself. Without your gentle mentorship I donโt think Ben would be the young adult that he is today.
So, thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
