Finally after weeks & months of wishing for some sunshine long enough that it stays for us to enjoy getting out in the great outdoors for our sessions!
It arrived ☀️🙏
We certainly “stretched up high, said hello to the sky, bent down low and said hello to the grass” 🌿🍃

And I couldn’t have been more grateful, a very wholesome beautiful outdoor yoga session, at one with nature, birds tweeting, staring up at the clouds, spotting helicopters & airplanes.

It’s classes like this that make me LOVE what I do even more than I already do.

In our children’s yoga sessions, stories come to life through movement ✨

Each adventure invites children to stretch, balance, breathe, and imagine using their bodies to become part of the story itself. From roaring lions to tall trees and magical journeys, every pose helps build confidence, creativity, coordination, and calm.

Story-led yoga creates a space where imagination and movement work together, encouraging children to express themselves freely while developing body awareness in a fun and engaging way 💛

Learning through movement. Growing through play. Exploring through imagination.

Teaching children the knowledge of the world as well as the knowledge of themselves vitals aspects of growing up.

We teach both independently and in several nurseries, if you are interested in having a Tatty bumpkin yoga session in your nursery,

Life Hacks for a Happier You 🌟

✨ See happiness — don’t seek it.
Notice the good things already around you: a smile, a sunny day, a kind friend.

🧘 Take a pause before you react.
A few deep breaths can help you make better choices.

💛 Talk to yourself like a friend.
Be kind to yourself, especially when things are difficult.

🌱 You don’t have to know everything.
Stay curious. Every day is a chance to learn something new.

🎈 Move your body when your feelings feel big.
Stretch, dance, walk, wiggle, or try some yoga.

👀 Look for what’s going well.
Your brain notices what you practise noticing.

🤝 Ask for help when you need it.
Strong people ask for support.

🌈 Small steps count.
Tiny actions done every day create big changes.

⭐ “You’ve got this.”
You may not have all the answers, but you can take the next step.

🌻 The best life hack?
Be kind—to yourself, to others, and to the world around you.

Welcome to the Indigo Summer Term!

We are excited to begin a new term of our children’s yoga classes, inspired by the beautiful colour Indigo.

This term, we’ll be exploring lots of fun poses, including Fish Pose, Seagull Pose, Octopus Pose, Peacock Pose, and many more animal-inspired movements. We’ll also be celebrating the magic of the rainbow and its wonderful colours through our yoga adventures.

We are looking forward to welcoming both familiar and new faces, discovering plenty of new poses, and sharing lots of fun, movement, and imagination together throughout the term.

Here’s to a fantastic summer term! 🌈🧘‍♀️🐟🦚🐙🕊️

This week has been Mental Health Awareness Week (11th-17th May).

At Tatty bumpkin South Northants we know first-hand how yoga can support children's mental health & wellbeing even in very young children.
At the end of every session we finish our class by floating back to wobble farm to tell the ducks at the duck pond all about our adventures, the ducks don’t realise how small but mighty a part of the session they really are.
The children focus solely on the rise and fall of their chest as their duck is placed on their tummy’s, we encourage the children to breathe in and out and watch their duck move.

Learning simple breathing techniques, at a young age develops habits and skills that last a lifetime, supporting future happiness and success.

Here's a simple relaxation and breathing exercise you can try with your child to help support yours and their mental wellbeing over the weekend.

Lie down with your child, placing a small toy on their tummy. Encourage them to lie still and quietly, asking them to watch their toy as it moves slowly up and down as they breathe.

This exercise supports abdominal breathing, which slows the heart rate, allowing children to feel calm, restored and relaxed.
Give it a go!
And come along to a class near you, helping every week to regulate, assist and support our children of today ♥️🧘‍♀️

Next week is SATs week for Year 6 pupils - here are a few tips to help reduce stress in the build up to exams.

💤 Prioritise sleep. A good nights sleep will help boost memory and concentration, as well as being essential for our physical and mental wellbeing.

🏃‍♀️ Get moving! Physical activity releases endorphins, our bodies natural stress relievers! Get involved in an activity you enjoy, or let off steam at the playground.

🌳 Get outside! Spending time in nature helps lower levels of stress and anxiety and can boost our mood

🧘 Practice Mindfulness! Taking some deep breaths, simple yoga poses or even colouring can improve focus and concentration and reduce stress.

⭐️Most importantly remember to keep things in perspective. Exams do not define your worth - they do not measure how kind you are, what a good friend you are, your creativity, humour or determination.

Celebrate all of your achievements! 🎉
