MCC GOLF DAY 2026 | FRIDAY 9TH OCTOBER

Back by popular demand, the Mottram CC Golf Day returns!

Join us on Friday 9th October at Dukinfield Golf Club for some 4 Man AMAM format fun.

There will be team prizes presented plus awards for longest drive and closest to the pin.

Tee times are from noon and entry is £30.

Congratulations to Iris and Dollie for making their 4th XI debuts today.

Fresh from Girls Cup Final action, they played their part during a narrow loss to Charlesworth.

Iris was a dropped catch away from a 1st senior wicket and Dollie who was called in as an emergency substitute was not out at the end, batting for 8 overs as we fell just short.

700 MOTTRAM CC WICKETS FOR MICHAEL SCOTT

Congratulations to 2nd XI Skipper Michael Scott who has reached the phenomenal milestone of 700 wickets for the club across 1st XI, 2nd XI and T20 cricket.

Scotty took his first Mottram wicket back in 2005 and hit the 700 mark during the 2s clash with Wythenshawe at the MCG.

Saturday 5th September | Midday Starts, Nights Drawing In

On the penultimate Saturday of the season, the 1s are on the road to Heaton in GMCL Prem 2.

For the 2s, a must win clash with Wythenshawe in the hunt for the final promotion spot. Bar open from 11.30am.

Both games start at Midday.

Player Of The Month Awards | August

Congratulations to James Collinson and Jemima Woolstencroft who are the MCC Players Of The Month for August.

Jimmy C has been electric with the bat for the 3s, most notably v Stayley where his 97 came from 54 balls. For the 2s, his 5/27 turned their home tie against the same opponents on its' head.

Jemima has been in sublime form with the bat for both the Women's 1s and 2s. Averaging 42.5 and striking at >130 she ended the season with 26* against league leaders Winton.

GIRLS HARDBALL CUP FINAL | RAIN WINS (FOR NOW)

Despite rain spoiling the fun, we still have some excellent photos from today's Cup Final, thanks to Anthony Devlin.

The game was finely poised with Mottram taking wickets through Charlotte and Erin and Lindow batting calmly before the rain came.

We try again, from the start, this coming Sunday (6th).

Thank you to everyone who mopped up, moved covers, baked and helped with making it a proper cup final. Lets do it again in 6 days 😃
