I’m sure everyone will have seen the rules controversy at yesterday’s Open Championship involving Bryson DeChambeau, where a 2 stroke penalty was assessed for inadvertently improving his lie, and we thought it would a be good opportunity to educate our junior golfers on this ruling.

There is a great video explainer in the R&A App (Which we encourage everyone to download) however this video also offers a great explanation of rule 8-1.

Morning all,

There are a number of Lanarkshire Golf events planned over the next month or so, this is a chance for our junior players to get more experience playing in bigger fields with players from across Lanarkshire and to play other courses from our area in a competitive environment.

Evening all,

We have just posted on the WhatsApp community about the LGA event at Wishaw GC on the 4th May.

We will share details of all LGA events where there isn’t a clash with our own events, and encourage our junior members with a handicap to take part.

It’s a great experience to play other courses and meet other junior golfers from around Lanarkshire.

All,

Given the weather forecast for Sunday, and to give as much notice as possible we are going to cancel the planned junior medal.

Winds of up to 50mph are forecasted so thought we would spare even our hardiest of Junior members having to play in those conditions!

We will try and reschedule this where we can though, perhaps even during the Easter holidays.
