**MAC at the Lanarkshires**

Congratulations to all our athletes as a very long season comes to a close, with only the Club Championships to follow next week.

A hugely successful day for our athletes at the LAAA Championships at Crownpoint. From the first event of the day with Niamh winning a bronze in the 400m, to the very last race where Martha took 1500m silver, and every single athlete who competed in between, you did yourselves proud.

Too many names to mention but hopefully the photos give a sense of the achievement and team spirit we are growing at our club.

Thanks to all the athletes, parents and supporters, and to our Coaches and Officials today, and throughout the season. The MAC family has had an exceptional summer since that first, very cold and rainy meet at Cumbernauld in March!

Our Instagram account has been (hopefully) temporarily deactivated.

We are currently working with their customer service to resolve the issue and have the page reinstated as with over seven hundred posts, there are a lot of memories.

We’ll give it a few weeks before admitting defeat and creating a new profile.

Congratulations to Under 18 athlete Caitlin who won an excellent bronze at the Scottish Athletics U18 National Championships in Aberdeen. Finishing behind two Irish athletes, Caitlin was the first Scot over the line in the girls’ 800m.

Joining Caitlin in Aberdeen was last week’s NL 5k victor, Luke, who completed a very busy week of racing, in the 1500m.

Next up, it’s the final Shettleston Open Graded on Tuesday before the Lanarkshire Championships on Saturday 12 September.

A busy season is approaching the final stages as MAC goes through lots of positive changes both on and off the track. More exciting news to follow soon…….
