Another outstanding performance from my wee team . First league game of season . this morning away to westerton .

Westerton 1 North Motherwell 5

The game kicked off with north Motherwell in full confidence after booking our place in the league cup semi final by topping our group and it showed after a free kick from Leon broke the deadlock. Almost immediately after Declan wins the penalty which Tai confidently put into the bottom left corner seeing north Motherwell go into halftime 2-0 up. North Motherwell continued the second half the way we finished the first with Olly playing it down the right hand side and cut it across to Brody who hit it into the the roof of the net. Westerton then found a goal from a penalty sending the keeper the wrong way. North Motherwell kept our composure and managed the game well in the latter stages of the game with Jack scoring a great goal from distance leaving the keeper with no chance and Leon finished the game after a great ball played into him leaving him 1 on 1 with the keeper that he was never going to miss.

Man of the match- Emmanuel, was a doubt for playing at all but after 2 paracetomol told us he'd start none the less and played an absolute blinder for the full 90

NORTH MOTHERWELL 6 -CAMELON 2

The game kicked off with North flying high in confidence after a positive result midweek and broke the deadlock by an own goal caused by some great delivery into the box by Brody. North Motherwell continued to pressure Camelon by playing some great football and winning another corner, which was nodded home by Sole after another great ball from Brody. The first half continued to be controlled by North, who kept in total control of the ball and had the game in their hands and deservedly found themselves a third after a brilliant ball from Freddie played straight into Leon’s stride, who just had to keep composure and slot it into the bottom-left corner, this saw North Motherwell go into half-time 3-0 up and in cruise control. The second half kicked off and a slight bit of complacency crept into North Motherwell’s game, which saw a loose pass out of defence find its way into the Camelon midfielder’s feet, and he just had to pass it into an empty net with the keeper out of position. After the slight setback, North got their foot on the ball and restored their three-goal advantage following some great footwork from Justice, whose effort hit the bar and fell kindly for Tai, who got the goal that his performance warranted. The fifth goal came from Justice, who again, after some amazing footwork, put himself in the perfect position to rifle it into the top-left corner. Camelon did not seem to give up, and after a mix-up between goalkeeper and centre-back, saw the Camelon striker swoop in and take the ball round the keeper to finish into an empty net to make the game 5-2. With not long left to go, Justice doubled his account for the game after a very good finish into the bottom corner, which saw North Motherwell win the game 6-2.

Man of the match - Emmanuel, who was very solid at the back and provided a real threat going forward

North Motherwell 4 Westerton 0.

The game started with North Motherwell on the front foot and asking some questions of the Westerton backline until a smart ball split open the backline and saw Justice through one-on-one with the goalkeeper, which he comfortably slots home. The game restarts, and both teams have spells of good chances with both goalkeepers being called into action a few times. After a series of attacks and efforts from North Motherwell, the ball drops kindly on the edge of the box to Brody, who strikes it cleanly into the bottom corner, leaving the keeper with no chance, which sees North Motherwell go into half-time with a bit of breathing space. The second half kicks off and North Motherwell keep up the pressure as they did in the first half, and it showed when Leon breaks into the box and wins his side a penalty, which he steps up and calmly strikes into the bottom-right corner. After going 3 down, Westerton are trying all they can to fight for a comeback, but anything they throw at our backline they clear comfortably. After applying some pressure on North Motherwell, Westerton thought they had pulled one back from a corner. However, the ball had gone out of play and back in, and the referee correctly makes the call of no goal. This proved to be a bit of a wake-up call for North Motherwell, as after it they begin to get their foot on the ball and start playing again. When a free kick played back post would be chipped back into the box to Justice, who heads it towards goal and a deflection sees it roll into the net. North Motherwell again face some attacks from Westerton in the latter stages of the game but ultimately stand strong and see themselves out to a 4-0 victory.

Man of the Match - Jude, anything that came near him he cleared away and done an excellent job at keeping a very tricky striker quiet for the full match.

North Motherwell 2-2 linglithgow rose

North motherwell win 4-3 on penalties

North Motherwell began on the front foot, creating early chances and forcing saves while testing the Linlithgow backline. However, against the run of play, the visitors took the lead from a 30-yard free kick delivered to the back post and tapped in. The response was immediate, with Sole seeing a header well saved before continued pressure led to a 25-yard free kick, which Justice fired into the top corner to level the match for half time. The second half saw North Motherwell start strongly again, and a corner from Declan was headed in at the back post by Sole to put them ahead. The game then became evenly balanced, with both sides pushing for another goal, before Linlithgow rose equalised with around 15 minutes remaining through a composed finish into the bottom-left corner after excellent close control dribbling from their striker. In the closing stages, Linlithgow looked more likely to win it, but a corner whipped in with a header across goal which had the goalkeeper beaten was cleared off the line by Sole which sent the match to a penalty shootout. The shootout began with a save from the North Motherwell goalkeeper, Danny, diving low to his right hand side , before Frederick and Justice both converted. A third penalty was then missed over the bar, but Tai restored composure by slotting his effort into the bottom corner. Another save followed from Danny diving to a comfortable height on his left hand side this time, before Brody stepped up and calmly ended the tie by putting the ball into the bottom corner to secure the win. Man of the match was Olly, who covered every blade of grass, consistently relieved pressure, and carried the ball effectively to gain valuable ground for his team.
