We are happy to report that two of our Dragons, Gary Myerscough and his daughter Rachel, successfully completed their 26.2 mile Mighty Hike in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support this weekend. We've even had unconfirmed reports that they have both been seen walking again - so no lasting injuries by the looks of things.

Gary and Rachel dedicated this one to a Dragon we lost to cancer earlier this year (Alan Ord) and a mother of a dragon (Margaret Slaughter) who has been fighting the disease for a number of months.

As a team, they have managed to almost raise £1,000 but if you would like to help them get across that finish line then you can donate via this link:

Difficult playing conditions yesterday for our club finals day. Congratulation to Fiona Charlton who beat Robyn Dryburgh in the ladies singles final. Fiona later narrowly lost out to Alan Stewart in the club handicap final with Alan going on to lift the men’s singles final against Martin Hayden.

Somewhat earlier, we had celebrated our club pairs winners. Well done to Emily Bowyer and Paul Charlton.

It’s Gary Myerscough’s championship singles first round today and we wish him well. Had Alan Ord still been with us, he would have travelled down to offer his support - so Gary has brought a photo of Alan down in remembrance. 🐉❤️

Good luck to one of our dragons, Fiona Charlton, as she steps onto the Leamington greens in the National finals this morning representing Northumberland in the ladies pairs. Her first game is 9am and everyone at St. George's Dragons Bowling Club send her and her playing partner, Thelma, our good luck and best wishes. 🐉🐉
