Moretonhampstead Swimming Pool Moretonhampstead Community Swimming Pool is a 25m outdoor pool heated by renewable energy on Dartmoor, Devon. The 2024 season starts on 25th May.

Full timetable on our website. Moretonhampstead Swimming Pool, on the edge of Dartmoor, is open from May through to September and is run by volunteers. Our fabulous 25m outdoor pool is heated by air source heat pumps and solar power, so you can swim comfortably even when the sun is hiding behind the clouds. The pool offers a grassed social area, hot and cold refreshments, and a timetable that offe

rs a daily general swim for all, lane swimming, aqua fit sessions, swimming lessons, technique coaching, and water polo. Each season we try to introduce new opportunities for improving fitness and confidence in the water for all ages. The pool is also available for hire.

6.45am. Calm. Warm. Peaceful moments full of birdsong before a busy day at Moreton Pool. Our timetable begins with the 7am lane swim, then pupils from Moreton Primary have at last got a sunny morning of swimming lessons. Aquafit at 12pm, more lanes at 1pm and then general swims at 2.30pm and 6.45pm (after swim school). We’re hoping a gentle Dartmoor breeze will help ease the heat poolside - we’re ready for a glorious day!

A reminder that we are laying on a morning swim 10am-12pm tomorrow for anyone who’d like a chilled swim whilst the majority of kids are at school. The first hour of the 2.30pm general swim is also a quieter time to visit. Bring your lilos and beat the heat!
