A huge congratulations to Morecambe Golf Club on successfully retaining the Blenkinsop Token following Saturday’s match against Heysham Golf Club! 👏⛳

Over the weekend, our MGC Junior Team had their final home fixture in the North Lancashire Junior League and for the 3rd season in a row were undefeated at home! A fantastic achievement, congratulations to the entire team!

Our Junior Team will be competing in the Blenkinsop Token this coming Saturday 29th August at Heysham Golf Club. All our members are welcome to come along and show your support!

What a fantastic day we had for the 86th playing of the Clayton Trophy here at Morecambe Golf Club! ⛳🏆

Thankfully, the weather was kind to us, providing some great conditions for what turned out to be a brilliant day of golf. More importantly, the competition was played in fantastic spirit, with plenty of camaraderie between all three clubs.

It was a pleasure to welcome the teams from Morecambe, Heysham and Lancaster, along with club officials, members and supporters. The atmosphere around the club throughout the day was excellent, and we hope everyone who joined us had a thoroughly enjoyable time.

There were some great scores to note throughout the day.

🥉 3rd – Lancaster Golf Club: 883

🥈 2nd – Heysham Golf Club: 880
Including an excellent 1-under-par round from Clayton Team Captain Tony Johnson.

🏆 1st – Morecambe Golf Club: 849

Congratulations to our Morecambe team on an impressive performance and for retaining the Clayton Trophy! 👏🏆

There were some fantastic individual performances too, including a level-par 67 from Michael Hanson and an excellent 2-under-par round from Thomas Winn.

A huge well done to everyone who represented Morecambe, and thank you to all the players, officials, volunteers, staff and members who helped make the day such a success.

The Clayton Trophy is always about much more than the scores, and yesterday was a fantastic example of the spirit of the game, friendship and camaraderie that makes this annual event so special.

We’re delighted to be welcoming the Morecambe, Heysham & Lancaster teams, along with club officials, members and supporters, for what promises to be another fantastic day of golf and great sporting spirit. 👏

🎬⛳ FROM MORECAMBE GOLF CLUB TO THE TV SCREEN! 📺🌊

Remember our Captain’s Charity Golf Day raffle back in May? Well, we can finally share the story behind the fantastic prize! 🎉

Our 2024 Lady Captain, Julie Cheung, was the lucky winner of the chance to have a walk-on role in Series 6 of ITV’s The Bay – filmed right here in Morecambe!

On Thursday 30th July, Julie and her Dad Geoff Forrest were invited onto the set for an incredible behind-the-scenes experience.

From the moment they arrived at the production base behind the Festival Market, they received the full VIP treatment, including their own trailer, a driver between filming locations, breakfast, costume and make-up! 🎭🎬

Their first scene involved a police chase at the Battery, where Julie and Geoff took part as extras. After 12 takes, the production team were happy with the scene!

We don’t want to give too much away… 🤫

But Julie has revealed that they should appear in Episode 6 when Series 6 airs next year! 👀📺

The day continued with behind-the-scenes filming at the site of the old swimming stadium, followed by lunch prepared by the on-site catering team. They then visited the beach in front of The Midland and the Stone Jetty, where the crew finished the day with a spectacular Morecambe sunset. 🌅

Julie & Geoff were introduced to directors, producers and key members of the crew and got a fascinating insight into how much work goes into creating the show.

With around 90 crew members working on the day, Julie said the atmosphere was incredibly professional, calm and friendly.

A huge thank you to Julie for sharing her experience, and congratulations once again! 👏

Most importantly, this fantastic experience was made possible thanks to everyone who supported our Captain’s Charity Golf Day raffle, raising funds for Stanley’s Community Centre, Morecambe. ❤️
