✨ OCTOBER HALF TERM AT SAMT! ✨

We’re so excited to welcome Benji Pollitt to SAMT this October half term for two special Musical Theatre Workshops! 🎶🧑🏽‍🩰

You may already recognise Benji from some fantastic local productions! His local credits include Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Lumière in Beauty and the Beast and Rooster in Annie, alongside being a Dance Master runner-up of Great Britain!

Benji brings a real passion for musical theatre, dance and performance, and we’re so excited for our students to have the opportunity to work with him! 🙌🏻

Expect an exciting mix of musical theatre, dance, performance and technique - and the perfect opportunity to work with a new face at SAMT!

Our lovely tots had a great first week back last week, doing our very own version of ‘9 to 5’ - giving us their best ‘angry work faces’ ⏰😤😀

Our Tots Musical Theatre Classes cater for children 3-6 years - and due to students moving up, we currently have space in both our Wednesday late Afternoon & Saturday Morning sessions.

A fab first week back, more singing & dancing to Dolly in our Musical Theatre Groups, a super fun new song started with Glee Club and some Charity idea initiatives being worked on in acting, figuring out how we can use our talents to give back. ❤️

We had a fantastic first day back yesterday, with the Tuesday Junior & Senior Musical Theatre Groups! 🙌🏻

We’re starting the term with our Juniors honouring the late great Dolly Parton - by learning and staging a number from ‘9 to 5 The Musical! And our Seniors are working on their physicality and acting through movement & theatrical dance with Dear Evan Hansen! ⏰🩵

Dolly Parton 💔🦋

When I first started SAMT 9 and a half years ago, I’d just been cast in this role of ‘Doralee’ (aka Dolly), and played it in that same year.

I truly do feel like I owe so much to Dolly and the lessons I learnt from playing her, and learning about her. The confidence to bite the bullet and set up a musical theatre school from scratch, to pass my love of music and performance on to young people, to believe in myself and not let anyone’s judgments stop me.

What a woman. I can’t believe she’s gone, but wow, what a legacy she leaves behind. And, how lucky am I to have had the opportunity to play a role and sing songs, written, played by and inspired by her. 💗

Ps - that same society that cast me in this role is the society I now direct and choreograph for, AND 9 to 5 was one of the first show I helped direct at my old high school just before this, introducing me to a world of directing I never even knew about. If I’d never auditioned and never had these opportunities I probably wouldn’t even be doing that today either.

As the incredible lady herself said “find out who you are, and do it on purpose” - thank you for helping me find myself Dolly.

Rest now, we will always love you ###x

✨ Volunteer Teaching Assistants Wanted at Sophie’s Academy of Musical Theatre! ✨

SAMT are once again looking for friendly, reliable and enthusiastic volunteers (aged 13 and above) to join us as Volunteer Teaching Assistants in our Musical Theatre classes. Classes currently not already covered by my current fantastic volunteers are listed below.

📅 When:
* Mondays: 5.30 - 6:30pm
* Wednesdays: 4:00 - 5:00pm
* Thursdays: 4:00 - 5.00pm and/or 5.00 - 6:00pm
* Saturdays: 11 - 12pm
(You don’t need to commit to every day, even one regular slot helps!)

🎭 What you’ll do:
* Support children in their singing, dancing, and acting classes
* Lend Sophie a hand in keeping lessons running smoothly
* Encourage and guide younger students with confidence and care
* Help with the little things that make a big difference (settling in, staying focused, boosting morale!)

🌟 Who can apply?
* Anyone aged 13+ who’d love to get involved, including current SAMT students who want to gain experience in a class they don’t currently attend

🌟 Why join us?
* Gain hands on experience in a fun, creative environment
* Build teamwork, confidence, and leadership skills
* Be part of a warm, supportive community where children thrive through the performing arts

The countdown is officially ON! Just ONE WEEK until our SAMT classes return for a brand new term, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back!

🌟 Limited spaces are still available for new starters across selected classes for ages 3-18, with waiting lists available for those currently full.

Whether they love to sing, dance, act, perform, or simply want to build confidence, have fun and make new friends, there’s a place for them at SAMT! ❤️

As we look ahead to the start of a brand new term this September, we're so excited to be welcoming both returning and new students to Sophie's Academy of Musical Theatre!

With 11 weekly classes to choose from, there's something for every young performer aged 3-18:

(All classes are based in Morecambe.)

Whether your child dreams of performing on stage, wants to build confidence, make new friends, or simply have fun in a supportive and encouraging environment, we'd love to welcome them to the SAMT family.

✨ Places are now available across a number of classes, but spaces are limited. Some of our classes are already full and have waiting lists in place, so we recommend getting in touch as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

New students: We'd love to welcome you along for a taster session! Simply send us a message to find out more.
