At the 2026 Surrey Rugby Awards, Merton RFC was proud to be recognised for everything that makes our club special – both on and off the pitch.

👏 “More Than A Game” Award 2026
A huge congratulations to Jack Canniff, whose dedication, passion and commitment to our rugby family earned him the prestigious More Than A Game Award. This award celebrates those who go above and beyond to make rugby a positive force within their club and community, and Jack embodies exactly what Merton RFC stands for.

💀 The Surrey Skull Award
We are also incredibly proud that Merton RFC was awarded the coveted Surrey Skull. This recognition reflects the hard work of our players, coaches, volunteers, supporters and wider club family who continue to make Merton RFC a welcoming, ambitious and community-focused club.

These awards are a testament to the values that drive us every day:
🖤 Community
💛 Respect
🖤 Inclusion
💛 Commitment
🖤 The Merton Way

Thank you to everyone who plays their part in making Merton RFC more than just a rugby club.

Once a Merton man, always a Merton man.

And just like that… another Merton RFC tour is in the books.

What started as a weekend away turned into memories that’ll last a lifetime — the laughs, the chaos, the songs, the sore heads, and the moments nobody will ever let each other forget.

Tours like this remind us what this club is really about. Not just rugby, but friendship, brotherhood, and being part of something bigger than ourselves.

Hull, you delivered. The boys delivered. And the stories will only get better with time.

One team. One tour. 🖤💛

Chapter Two: The Middle 🍻🏉

By this point of the tour, nobody knew what day it was, voices were disappearing, and somehow the group chat was getting worse by the hour.

The tour virgins were fully broken in, the stories were becoming less believable, and Hull kept giving us moments that will live forever in Merton RFC history.

Plenty of laughs, a few sore heads, and absolute chaos from start to finish — just the way we like it.

This wasn’t just a rugby tour… it was survival of the fittest.

Final instalment coming soon 👀

Hull… you were something else.

What happens on tour definitely doesn’t stay on tour — not when it’s this good. From first whistle to last orders, this trip had everything: big hits, bigger laughs, questionable decisions, and memories that’ll be talked about for years.

To the tour virgins — you survived (just about) and now you’re part of the story. To the veterans — you set the standard as always. And to everyone in between — this is what Merton RFC is all about.

Friendships, chaos, and a seriously good time.

Same again next year? 🍻🏉
