There’s still time to enter this years North Angus, so it be great to see a big influx of entries over the weekend in the run up to the closing date on Tuesday 👍.

The North Angus is a a great opportunity to compete locally under tournament conditions, and we have events from 8s up to seniors, so something for all. Grab a partner, and get entered today. All info in the factsheet 👇

The first tie of the Scottish Seniors, 65+, intercounty matches was hosted by Montrose Tennis Club on Sunday. Scotland North B vs Scotland North A. The A team won 3 rubbers to 1. The B team defended well as indicated by the game score, 44 games to 32. Jen and Barbara won one rubber against the A team second pairing. Well played all

Montrose 1 Ladies travelled to Lundin Links to take on their first team on a very different playing surface than we’re used to and enjoyed great weather conditions for tennis. First couple of Jenna and Orla comfortably won all their sets, second pairing of Wendy and Allie won against the third pairing and won the second set against their opposite pair in a tense tiebreak and Carolyn and Sarah played very well taking two sets against the third couple. Lundin Sports’ hospitality was much appreciated before the long drive home and next week the team faces another long distance journey to Falkland.

Team 3 Ladies had another good win against Arbroath 2s yesterday, winning 8 - 4.

At first couple, Linda and Jenny Munro took 3 sets, and were only just pipped at the post in their fourth set. Kalpana and Kara had some tough matches and won two sets, both sides winning 19 games each. Katie and Jenny Jones played brilliantly together for the first time at third couple and won 3 of the 4 sets.

A great evenings tennis, delicious catering and good chat. Thanks to the supporters and our opponents.

The final match of the season is at home on Monday against Falkland.

On Monday evening Montrose Ladies 2 took on Scone 1 at home. Representing Montrose was Jen, Amy, Za, Bel, Evelyn & Lindsey.
Jen & Amy won 3 sets, both playing some spectacular tennis in the second two sets against their opposing couple. Za & Bel were delighted to pick up 4 sets, & Evelyn & Lindsey took a steady, solid 3 sets. The overall score was 10-2 to Montrose. The weather was kind; not too much wind & quite bright. It was a fun night & thanks to Scone for a really enjoyable evening. Looking forward to the return match next week.

There’s just over a week or so (23rd) before the online closing date comes along, and we’re looking for many more entries across the board, especially adults. We know there are lots of pending entries out there but please, please don’t leave your own entry to the last minute as the fuller the draws are, the more likely of more entries coming in after yours 👍. With most of us probably on a soft start today after the excitement of the early morning football ⚽️, what better time to get your entries in!
