🥊what a night at the town hall on Friday with one of the most energetic crowds I’ve seen at any amateur boxing shows around 🥊
The boxing didn’t disappoint either with a good variety of weights and ages putting on the gloves , many for the first time , we had boxers from Elgin down to Wolverhampton in attendance to make the show a great one 🥊
-First up was our Damien Stewart who had an exhibition with a more experienced lad from Inverurie, this was Damien’s first time in the ring and they had a good 3 rounds in the non scoring bout (one to watch in the future )🥊
- Alfie Ryan made his debut and was giving away weight and experience to the strong Inverness opponent who caught him with a few good shots in the first round resulting in the ref stopping the bout before the first bell, had he made it back to the corner it could have had a different outcome one but every bout is for learning and Alfie will be another to watch out for 🥊
-we had Arbroath vs Skyaxe Dundee in a cracking 3 rounder with Skyaxe getting the nod🥊
-ethan Dunbar took to the ring against a kid from Perth rail Zain akhtar and this was a more technical bout going the 3 rounds with the Perth rail lad getting the decision , was some good boxing and movement by both boxers 🥊
-next up was our Ramsay Lumgair vs Ryan Petrie Arbroath in the first local derby of the evening
This was an evenly matched bout with both lads making there debut and it was a real crowd pleaser with Arbroath coming away with the result , this will likely be a rematch in the future🥊
- next up Kilsyth golden gloves vs Elgin in an open class support bout which didn’t disappoint🥊
- pre interval was our Aiden McRae vs a lad from Inverurie Miguel Stewart who were both entering the ring for there first bout , the bout started off well with both lads exchanging but the Inverurie lad was landing some good clean shots on Aiden and the ref stepped in and gave a count and stopped the bout ,
- after the interval was another support bout with the first of the murray twins from Cannock against a tough lad from Kilsyth golden gloves with hendry Murray getting the nod after 3 high paced rounds of 🥊
- Finlay Coull vs struan from Elgin was next with the lads going 3 rounds in a battle which was very close, Finlay was landing the better shots but the Elgin lad was a lot stronger and made it difficult for Finlay and Elgin came out with the result 🥊
-Next was the second Murray twin against Jake shaw from Skyaxe which was a 3 round battle with the Dundee boxer getting his hand raised against Charles 🥊
Finally the most anticipated fight of the night was Hayden sutton vs Brannan Brymer from brechin which has been the talk of the talk in the lead up to the night , these 2 finally getting in the ring to have an open class cruiserweight battle, both lads weighing in same records , both champs in there youth 🥇
The bout started off strong and Brymer caught Hayden in the eye and opened up the cut that stopped him on last years show , the doctor and ref agreed to let it carry on and it certainly did , both lads giving there all in there giving an entertaining 3 rounds which was level going to the last round where Hayden landed the cleaner shots to get his hand raised in what was a great end to the night 🥊
