Now photographers are often known to complain about "blue sky days" not being very appealing for landscape photography but I think the group on yesterdays photography workshop in Cwm Idwal might disagree, just nice to see some sunshine again in Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park.

New Dinorwig Slate Quarry photography workshop date:

Sunday 18th October 2026

I've just added an additional date for the Dinorwig Quarry workshop, exploring the amazing abandoned industrial heritage of the unique landscape. The new workshop concentrates on the lower areas of the quarry around Anglesey Barracks so is more accessible than the higher workshop and takes advantage of the stunning autumnal woodland surrounding the quarry buildings.

A moderate level of fitness/mobility is still needed for the workshop as we wander around old quarry paths with some short but steepish inclines, approx 200ft climbing with frequent photography stops along the way
