South Hams Walking Football Club

South Hams Walking Football Club We train in Modbury in the summer and at nearby all-weather venues in the winter. Sessions are 6pm Mondays, 2pm Thursdays and 6pm Fridays.

We have over 50's men’s, over 60’s men’s, over 70’s men’s and over 35’s women’s teams.

The club is part of the Coop Community Fund until October.

We now have over 250 supporters - thank you! If you haven’t selected us yet, please download the Coop app and choose us as your cause.

The more supporters we have, the bigger our share of the funding could be - so every selection really does make a difference. Please ask your family and friends to support us too!

A great performance today from our team at the Devon Walking Football League Over 60s Football Festival!

We won three games and lost one to finish second in Group A with nine points.

We then won our semi-final to book our place in the final, where we lost 1–0 to Plymouth.

🧤 Paul S was excellent in goal.

The whole squad played really well and gave everything from start to finish. A brilliant team effort! 👏

We are enormously proud of Nigel, who yesterday played for England Kicking Cancer in Gloucester.

He played in three matches - all wins - including two against the England 075s teams. He played exceptionally well, scoring in each of the games.

To top it all off, Nigel was awarded his England shirt and secured his place in the England Kicking Cancer team. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

An incredible achievement for Nigel, and the whole club is absolutely delighted for him. ❤️

🙌 A good day for the club!

Today we had three teams representing the club in the local round of the FA Cup, and what a day it was!

🥇 Men’s over 60s - LOCAL ROUND WINNERS!
Our O60s were absolutely superb, finishing the day with an impressive 3 wins, 2 draws and just 1 loss to win their competition and book their place in the regional round in Bristol!

Men’s over 50s
Our young fellas had a strong day too, putting in some fantastic performances to finish with 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss. A great effort from the whole team!

Women’s over 40s - FA Cup debut!
And what a debut it was for our ladies! Taking on mostly division one opposition, they held their own, coming away with 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses.

A special shout-out to Jenny and Jo, who made their club debuts today and were absolutely brilliant! 👏

Ready for the season! ⚽

Following recent league AGMs we're delighted to be entering five teams into Devon County FA’s Walking Football leagues this season!

With the men's competition moving to age-group football and the introduction of our new women's teams, every one of our league teams will be new for the 2026/27 season - marking an exciting new chapter for the club.

Our league teams are:

🔵 South Hams Over 50s (men)
🔵 South Hams Over 60s A (men)
🔵 South Hams Over 60s B (men)
🔵 South Hams A (women)
🔵 South Hams B (women)

Entering five teams is a fantastic milestone and reflects the commitment, enthusiasm and support of our players.

Thank you to our players for making this possible - and in particular thanks to Paul, our Head of Football, for all the planning and organisation behind the scenes.

Both teams played some great football and enjoyed a fantastic morning.

Well done to everyone who represented the club - and a special mention goes to Dave Rabone, who was outstanding in goal! 👏
