Congratulations to this year’s Mobberley Rose Queen, Poppy Norbury! 🌹👑

It’s brilliant to see two of our own players, Liv Baines and Dottie Zephir, taking part as ladies-in-waiting too. Everyone at Mobberley Cricket Club hopes you all have a fantastic day celebrating this wonderful village tradition.

🏏 Mobberley CC Men’s Team News🏏

It’s a big Saturday for the Mobberley men, with the 1st XI at home and the 2nd XI on the road, plus it’s Rose Queen today, so remember the roads start closing from 12:30pm. Plan ahead, or risk arriving with the same timing as a late cut played to midwicket.

The 1st XI welcome Ashton-on-Mersey CC to Mobberley for a 12pm start. Will Berisford-Ince has the gloves, Bailey Lavin is back in the mix, and Jake Zephir will be looking to make an impact, hopefully with more timing than someone trying to parallel park outside the club during Rose Queen.

The 2nd XI head to Macclesfield CC for a 1pm start, with Joseph Richards behind the stumps and Cameron Baines, Archie Goodall and the lads ready to go. Away day cricket: packed kit, big hopes, and someone definitely asking “who’s got the balls?” ten minutes before start time.

🏏 Mobberley CC Women’s XI Team News🏏

Cup cricket comes to Mobberley this Sunday as the Women’s team host Neston CC in the First Round of the Cheshire Knockout Cup, with a 10:30am start ⏰

Lynda Brown leads the side, with plenty of talent in the line-up, including Carol “Quick Run” Nield, ready to turn ones into twos, and Vic “If In Doubt, Hit It Out” Sykes, bringing a beautifully simple game plan we can all get behind 💪

Expect cup drama, big energy, and at least one moment where someone on the boundary says, “that’s village cricket” like they’re narrating a BBC documentary.

Get down, support the team, and enjoy a cracking Sunday at the club.

🏏 Friday night at Mobberley CC, cricket, curry and the bar open. A truly elite hat-trick.🏏

Junior training is on 5–6pm, and Indian Food Carridge will be serving their usual menu of absolute winners, from spicy chicken burgers and seekh kebab wraps to chicken or veg curry, samosa chaat, loaded chips, and a cheeky masala tea if you’re pretending to be sensible.

Bring the kids, bring your appetite, and bring a jumper… because obviously it’s still cricket season in Cheshire. 🍛🍻

🏏 Mobberley CC Men’s Team News🏏

Saturday brings a double helping of Mobberley cricket, with the 1st XI heading to Middlewich CC for a 12pm start, while the 2nd XI are at home against Marple & Compstall CC from 1pm.

For the 1st XI, it’s great to see Bailey Lavin back in the side and ready to make his mark, hopefully causing more problems than a self-service checkout with “unexpected item in bagging area.” Will Berisford-Ince also returns from his adventures and takes the gloves, bringing back safe hands and, we assume, at least three stories nobody asked for.

At home, the 2nd XI welcome back Cameron Baines after his run, match fit, motivated, and possibly still moving quicker than the club WhatsApp when someone asks for availability. It’s also brilliant to see Joe Richards back at the club, a proper welcome return and another boost for the 2s.

🍻 Bar open Saturday from 1pm

Get down to the club, support the 2s, keep an eye on the 1s away, and enjoy a proper cricket Saturday. All welcome, even if your only tactical contribution is “make him play.”

🍻 MCC Beer Fest is back! 🍻

Join us at Mobberley Cricket Club on Friday 26 & Saturday 27 June for a brilliant weekend of craft beers, ciders, BBQ, music, cricket and community fun.

Friday night kicks off from 5pm with our iPod Shuffle, pick your favourite tune, enter for £20, and if your song is the final one played, you’ll win BIG! 🎶

Saturday starts from 2pm, with live music from The Randomers, BBQ and plenty of drinks flowing.
