Today’s karate training went very well. We focused on improving Yoko Geri and Mawashi Ger paying close attention to technique, balance, and control, and made clear progress throughout the session.

Karate is often mistaken for violent fighting, but it is primarily a disciplined practice centered on kata, which develops balance, coordination, focus, memory, and brain function while strengthening the body, calming the mind, and promoting self-control and respect.

It has been an amazing year for Garforth and Mirfield Karate Club, marked by dedication, progress, and a real sense of togetherness. Every student has worked incredibly hard, showing commitment, resilience, and pride in their training, both on and off the mat. The effort and enthusiasm from everyone involved have made this year truly special, and it’s been inspiring to see how much our students have grown. As we reflect on all that’s been achieved, we are excited and motivated as we look forward to another fabulous year ahead. 🥋
