Hello Folks, many thanks to everyone for entering this years competition it was a great success with 25 anglers fishing which made for a close fought battle eventually getting a winner with only over a percent between them and barely 5% between 1st and 3rd.

Good evening all,

Weathers looking good for the end of the week we have added black lug to the allowed baits as well (squid, rag, mackerel, black lug) due to issue with supply of Ragworm.

SPEEDBAIT will be open from 8am over competition days.

Wednesday- eve boat draw and pools entry

Thursday - 930am load boats - 6pm return

Friday - 10am load boats - 630pm return

Note- due to the football if people want to sign on earlier they can at speedbait during the day. People can also enter the pools without being there by messaging me and entering - 07894536672 via WhatsApp.

Optional Pools - Best Pairs chosen and Most Species

£10 per pool

Tides are quite big end of the week will need max of 1lb leads in case move out a little bit. Mostly be inshore though with smaller leads. Please try and keep gear to a minimum to maximise room onboard boats.

Good afternoon Folks,

Once again thank you to everyone who entered our Annual Minehead Big Fish Event, a great turnout for the time of year and we had some fantastic weather too!!!

Well done once again to our winner Billy Cann who won £1000 in cash with a score of 120 points.

Joint 2nd who shared £750 in cash was Daz Rose and Perry Dack who had 100 points. Closely followed by Alan Bird, Andy Smith and Richard Russell with 95 points.

We had a great result with around 90 spurdog landed, over 120 congers and Bull Huss, a few smoothounds and plenty of rays keeping the competitors busy.

We have proposed dates for this competition next year Saturday 9th January 2027 and Sunday 10th January 2027.

Coming up next is our 2 Days Species Challenge Thursday 16th July 2026 and Friday 17th July. ENTRIES NOW OPEN FOR THIS COMPETITION

Great end to a first day with the scoring very close separated by just a few fish. Overall nearly 80 Spurdog, 50 congers, over 20 rays and 30 plus Bull Huss.

Boat draw will take place this afternoon with independent witnesses present. Draw will be posted in a separate post.

Food available on return for all competitors Sunday
