Carhampton 1 - 0 Williton

This past weekend Carhampton welcomed old foes Williton to dunster playing fields in a hotly anticipated encounter.

The first half saw Williton kept to a couple of pop shots outside the box and a few corners whilst Carhampton went close with Robbie Davies brushing past the side of the goal and the Williton keeper kept the scoreline down with two very good one on one saves.

The second half saw Carhampton grow in confidence and Adam Barker, Jack Evans & Robbie Davies was causing the backline of Williton problems. The Williton keeper was again in good form and his role as a sweeper keeper was executed almost perfectly. It wasn’t long before Davies absolutley thundered the cross bar which was a warning sign of things to come for Williton. Soon after Davies thunderbolt, a fancy flick from Evans found Barker who then released Davies one on one and Davies made no mistake this time in making it 1-0.

Williton decided to throw the kitchen sink at Carhampton but the ever commanding Mark Daniels (some say he was living in there head rent free) shone in defence alongside a solid Pope & Binding and prevented Williton rescuing a point from the game.

Hats off to Williton for providing a very stern test and we look forward to the return fixture. ⚽️

Cotford 0 - 5 Carhampton

Carhampton cruised to victory this past weekend with a comfortable victory over a spirited Cotford side.

Carhampton had a dominant first half which saw there attacking threat on point, Robbie Davies opened the scoring in the opening minutes of the game from an indirect free kick inside the box. Davies shortly after made it a brace when Adam Barker split the center backs in two with a killer through ball, Davies made no mistake in slotting the ball in the bottom corner of the Cotford net. Next on the scoresheet was Joe greenwood who picked up the ball from 30 yards out and rifled one into the top bin leaving the keeper with no hope. Leo Hunt was on hand after Andrew Pope sent the ball 40 yards from the back to put him in behind, Hunt calmly lobbed the goalie. Adam Barker rounded the scoring when Robbie Davies cut the ball back for him to place it into the Cotford net.

After a more than dominant first half from Carhampton, Cotford came out a more disciplined and spirited side, Carhampton controlled the game from a possession perspective and the Cotford keeper made a string of decent saves to keep the score line down.

Carhampton 4-3 Northwalls

This past Sunday Carhampton welcomed Northwalls to dunster playing field and secured a spirited 4-3 victory which wasn’t always plain sailing for the blues but showed there grit in a thrilling 90 minutes.

Carhampton had been kicking themselves after more than a handful of scoring opportunities didn’t find the net after the first twenty minutes of the game where it could have been a done and dusted affair. Northwalls snuck a goal completley against the run of play but there lead didn’t last long as a long ball over the top from Andy Pope seen Robbie Davies get on the end of it and one on one with the keeper Davies continued his fine goal scoring form. Not long after this another ball in behind once again found Davies who this time unselfishly cut the ball back to the maruading Mitch Rees who made no mistake in finding the net. Carhampton went into the interval ahead and in control of the game.

The second half began with Carhampton generally controlling the game but Northwalls had made some tweaks and was now making some headway with there counter attacking football, this paid off when they found the net twice mid way through the second half and went ahead. A resurgent Carhampton pushed men forward and Leo Hunt played the ball to Connor Chillcott who scored his first goal of the campaign from around 30 yards. The dying moments of the game seen Hunt play a exquiste through ball to Robbie Davies who jinxed his way through a couple defenders and send the ball into the back of the net completeing Carhamptons comeback and sealing the three points.

Hinton St.George 1 - 4 Carhampton

Carhampton travelled down to Devon on Sunday with a much changed team from the previous weeks draw with Ash Park.

In the opening ten minutes a through ball from Karl Boswell found Leo Hunt who jinxed past a few defenders and struck the ball into Hintons goal! Hinton replied within five minutes when there forward scored an absolute belter from outside the box. Carhamptons Leo Hunt made it a brace when he scored an almost carbon copy of his first goal! Robbie Davies was brought down towards the end of the first half and converted the subsquent penalty to take Carhampton into the break 3-1 up.

Carhampton played the better football in the second half and could have had a handful of goals with the chances they created with all forward players getting notable chances. Robbie Davies again made it a brace when Jack Evans mazy run and cut back found Davies who slotted into the bottom corner.

Carhampton 2-2 Ash park rangers

Carhampton welcomed Ash park rangers to Dunster this past Sunday where the spoils was shared, Carhampton went one down when a Ash Park set piece went in. Carhampton responsed strong and two goals came from Robbie Davies both assisted by Kai Kennedy meant they led the game for the remainder of time until the last couple of minutes when Ash park converted another set piece.

Next week Carhampton travel away to Hinton St.George.

⚽️ Cotford 1 - 7 Carhampton ⚽️

Carhampton started the season with an emphatic victory over newcomers cotford.

Carhampton broke the deadlock within minutes when Mitch Rees tucked in at the back post. Minutes later Cotford got a equaliser but it wasn’t long before a quick corner to Adam Barker seen him pull off a exquisite finish from a tight angle just outside the box. A vintage Robbie Davies goal from 30 yards brought another goal. Mitch Rees wasn’t finished with his goal scoring exploits when he made it a brace from the backpost. Robbie Davies followed the trend in making it a brace before halftime when he lobbed the goalie from just inside the box.

The second half saw a more controlled approach to Carhamptons game, Robbie Davies made it a hat-trick on his Carhampton return when he poked home from close range! The pick of the goals was the one that followed a perfectly timed volley into the top bin from an energetic Leo Hunt.

Carhampton 2 - 4 Dunster

Carhampton gave a good account of themselves yesterday in a very competitive match with local rivals Dunster.

Adam Barker gave Carhampton a flying start before Dunster equalised. The second half saw Dunster take an early lead but Adam Barker again made it 2-2. Dunster went ahead to make it 3, a dubious disallowed goal for Joe Fitz prevented a Carhampton comeback and Dunster made it four just before the end of the game.

Good luck to Dunster for the season & cheers for coming together to get the match on at the final hour.

Plenty of positives to take, stepping up to take on what has been a flying Dunster in recent years, Carhampton go again this weekend away at Porlock Res.

Old foes face off tommorow morning after a number of re-schedulements for both clubs. Recent years has seen Dunster overcome Carhampton in leauge standings and sees them in the leauge above, a good test for Carhampton awaits. The two sides haven’t met for a couple of years and both will be keen to get a result tommorow.

Carhampton kicked off there pre season this morning away at Nether Stowey in a competitive game of football.

Before the game was a minutes silence for the recent tragedy and everyone associated with Carhampton hold those affected in there thoughts💙💛

Nether Stowey took a very early lead before Carhampton struck back with three goals. The half time interval placed the game at 3-2, Nether Stowey came back level in the second half to make it a real contest, with the onus on Carhampton to take a lead again, two more goals came which sealed the victory.
