PITCH WOES

Going to be a long season trying to keep the pitch playable after the severe summer weather and drought.

Minchinhampton Football Club normally has a pitch like a carpet at this time of the season but not this year 🙁

Top work by the clubmen knocking the pitch into a playable state for the club’s first home match of the season on Saturday.

HAMPTON TRIUMPH IN FIRST HOME GAME

Minchinhampton Football Club made hard work of beating Winchcombe Town but came through a difficult last thirty minutes to record a win and pick up three points in the first home match of the season.

Minch scored early through Nathan Green who finished off a good team move with an excellent finish.

Tom Beard doubled the lead with a trademark free kick.

Winchcombe Town fought hard in the second period and got a goal back fifteen minutes into the second period, but despite their best endeavours were unable to convert their chances to get back level.

Minch MOM went to the hard working John Read who as usual covered every blade of grass (if there were any grass left 🙈).

Big mention to the grounds team Mark Cox and Julian Biddle for their efforts preparing a pitch badly damaged by the hot summer 👏

ONE CLUB THREE TEAMS ♥️

Minchinhampton Football Club are proud and pleased to be back to fielding three senior sides after a good few years.

Minch Firsts host their first home match back in the GNSL with Winchcombe Town Football Club the visitors (3pm kick off).

Minch Reserves are on the road and travel to play Sherston Town Football Club Reserves for their first league match of the season (2-30pm kick off).

Our newly formed Minch Thirds are at home (at Nympsfield) and host another newly formed club Cirencester Rangers (2-30pm kick off).

Please get along to support the lads in whichever match you can get along to 👍

All welcome afterwards back to the Minchinhampton Cotswold Club for after match refreshments 🍻

Minchinhampton Football Club are looking for a referee for our Third Team match in the Stroud & District Football League being played at Nympsfield this coming Saturday 5th September 2-30pm kick off.

Usual fee and travelling expenses paid 👍

Fantastic customer service over last couple of days from Fleet Line Markers.

They were unable to help us fix our line marker over the phone yesterday so came across the today and after looking at our machine they gave us a replacement later model.

LAST TRAINING SESSION ON THE GRASS

Minchinhampton Football Club’s last summer training session will be this Tuesday 1st September with a 6-45pm start.

Changing rooms and showers available ✅

We are still looking for players to bolster the club’s three sides so get in touch or just turn up at a training session if interested 👍

GKs especially welcome 🙏

After this we return to Wycliffe College on Monday evenings throughout the season.
