Ladies first game of the season and a winning one 👏🏼 Well done ladies!
“After a tough summer period with a large number of players and staff leaving the team, it was touch and go as to whether we'd have a team for the first game of the season, but some busy recruitment and patience showed by the girls who remained paid off and today we hosted Aylesbury United Women, traditionally a tough opponent.
City played some really nice passing football through the middle at times and also using the wings to pe*****te.
Molly Norman was brave at times in the City goal rushing out to deny the Aylesbury striker. Tasha Piper scored City's first, racing away down the right, beating the defender and drilling home from a tight angle.
Hope Elverson scored City's second with a typical looping effort, and Mylee Ashby added a 3rd blasting in a City corner.
Mylee, playing her first ever competitive open age game was correctly awarded Player Of The Match.
Great start to the season for the ladies, who are in cup action next week, and the management team are extremely proud of the girls efforts and patience over the summer to help create this new look team.
