What a fantastic way to kick off the season! Despite going a goal down early on, the boys responded brilliantly, dominating possession and playing some phenomenal attacking football. A stunning finish from Alfie brought us level before Jesse struck to put us ahead. While we had to settle for a point, the teamwork, energy, and transition play gave us an incredible foundation to build on.

M&S Water Chiltern Youth Football League

Our first taste of competitive football ended in a narrow defeat against a strong, quick U12 Tekkers side.

After a difficult opening 15 minutes, the boys grew into the game, competed harder, created chances and showed real confidence. Freddie made a fantastic save, while the defence worked incredibly hard to keep us in it.

Tekkers eventually found the winner from a corner with around five minutes to go. Tough to take, but the boys kept pushing right until the final whistle. πŸ’ͺ

πŸ† POTM: Oscar β€” a brilliant workmanlike performance. Constantly competing, chasing, pressing and looking to get us on the attack. πŸ‘

Plenty to work on, but so many positives to take from our first competitive game. This group will only get better with more games under their belts.

With the U10 Pumas having their 1st league game rescheduled, what better way to test the boys than a friendly Vs a team in their division.
An early trip over to Bedford Park Rangers it was and boy was it worth it.

The boys started slow, but we don’t think the slanted pitch helped in any way, but they dug deep, worked tirelessly and finished the 1st half with confidence.

With a few new faces the Pumas have needed time to gel as a team over the past few weeks and in the 2nd half something clicked, the passing and moving we’ve been working on was on show and our final goal was evident of that.

Tyler got MOTM, he was non stop up front, constantly putting the opposition defenders under pressure, holding the ball up and getting 2 goals for himself.

Caleb got Player of the week, fantastic in our mid week friendly, the newest addition to our squad and the final piece of the puzzle, what a defensive masterclass he put on, sweeping up everything that came his way.

Overall a brilliant game, and a well deserved confidence booster going into our 1st league game next week.

U7 Panthers started their season away vs HEJ Athletic Blues.

Very pleased to see the benefits of extra focus on positioning and movement in today’s game, all players are really growing in both their understanding and confidence of team shape which is brilliant to see. HEJ are an incredibly organised team and we matched them for long periods across all games.

PoTM - Archer - an industrious display, with committed tackling and goals to top it off.

The U11 Pumas started their season today against Stony Stratford at home. After some good performances in pre-season friendlies we were confident going into the first game.

The first quarter saw Stony have most of the ball as they played some really nice passes and we struggled with their movement.

From there we knew we had to get ourselves organised to stand a chance against a very good passing side. The Pumas did just that, they all stepped up, putting strong challenges in and making clever passes to put us on the front foot.

The fourth quarter saw the Pumas show what they are about, giving Stony no time on the ball and creating opportunities by winning the ball high up.

Our player of the match went to Captain Carter who controlled the midfield with strong challenges, decisive passing and leading the team in their press.

U12 lions first competitive game started off strong against Bedford Park Ranger Kites.

A goal not fair off half way from Leo started us off, some say it was a fluke-he insists it was a shot! The boys were pumped and Kaiyaan scored straight after. Lions were passing well and looking for runs. Bedford got a goal back but Lions finished 3-1.

Booom - the U9 Lions were back with a bang this morningπŸ’₯ as we begin our onslaught of the U10 Div 2!

A tricky opening fixture against a well drilled AFC Oakley side were lying in wait. The Lions intensity showed from minute one, hunting down the ball in pairs, pressing as one and forcing the opposition into mistakes. Hunter moved like prime Andy Cole and worked his socks off. The Lions tails were up and they reaped the rewards… our 2 pint sized rockets showed no fear and played with typical intensity. The Fire Warrior was channeling his inner Tarkowski & the keepers made big saves. Becks was relentless covering every blade of grass.

The Lions energy and ability to play out from the back was sublime. Samba man danced around the pitch and Lion Mans mazy feet deservedly won him MoM from the opposition team! Lovely to see the Honey Badger notch on his birthday 🎁

A stern first test overcome with fearless, classy football. πŸ’ͺ⚽️🦁

The Leopards U9s displayed immense resilience and a tireless work ethic during a challenging, fast-paced friendly fixture against a sharp Leighton United U10 Orange side.

Although the opposition took control early with fluid passing and clinical finishing, goalkeeper Jaden kept the scoreline down with multiple spectacular saves across all four quarters. The Leopards found a bright spark in the second period when Amari made a brilliant solo break to slot home a well-deserved goal, sparking attacking momentum alongside energetic runs from Wesley and close-range free kicks from Abdul. Even as tired legs set in late in the game, and the opposition continued to battle hard, the entire squadβ€”anchored by strong defensive shifts from Nicolas, Sai , and Boboβ€”fought courageously for every ball right until the final whistle.

We take away a lot from today’s game and are grateful for the experience πŸ™πŸΌπŸ’ͺ🏼 - We will get to work in training again and will be prepped and ready for our first league game next weekend! βš½οΈπŸ†
