Another fantastic evening spent helping our local community build life saving skills.

Last night, James was at Linford Wood delivering Basic Life Support and Defibrillator training for the MK Lakeside Runners.

The session included looking at a real defibrillator alongside hands on practice with a range of training AEDs, giving everyone the opportunity to become familiar with different types of equipment. James took adult manikins with a variety of body types, helping to make the training as realistic and practical as possible.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, got involved and asked some excellent questions. We hope you never need these skills, but if the day ever comes, you’ll be far better prepared to make a difference.

We would like to say a big thank you to James from DTMK Training Services for providing some of our run leaders and members with a training session on CPR and defib use this evening.

Although the Run leader training covers first aid, it does not provide the practical hands on (literally!) experience that helps build confidence in knowing what to do in a life threatening emergency.

2 of our members have been saved thanks to early CPR and early Defibrillation.

With James’ experience and knowledge he has been able to give our members a little more confidence in what to do, should they ever find themselves in the situation of needing these skills.

When we decided to do the Zip Wire and at the same time try to raise some money for Willen Hospice, who are the chosen charity this year of MK Lakeside Runners, never did we expect it to climb to £730

We just wanted to say a massive thank you to family and friends, friends of family and friends of friends.

Proving age is just a number, Val and Mick took on the World’s fastest Zip line in aid of the Club’s Charity of the year Willen Hospice Milton Keynes

Medal Monday time!

On Friday afternoon 3 teams from MK Lakeside joined Enigma Running Marathon Relay for Network Rail.

As part of our 20 year anniversary this was our final Celebration event of the year 💙💙

In just under 2 weeks time members Val and Mick will be doing their mad Zip Wire adventure, something they decided to do before they “get too old to be able to do it”

So far you have helped them raise a fantastic £288.00.

Every penny of that will be going to Willen Hospice Milton Keynes, our Club’s chosen Charity of the Year, as everyone in MK knows of someone who has been helped by the Hospice care.

It would be great if they could reach £500 😉.
