CRANK UP YOUR FISHING

With the river season about to kick off, there's no better way to spend a few hours targeting chub and perch in the shallow water than with crank baits.

The Wychwood Agitator Z Series 2-10g paired with a 3000 size Series 2 reel is the perfect combination. The rod is a hollow tip model with an action great for fishing crank baits, as the tip is more forgiving and the action of the rod is moderate to fast. This will allow the baits to be worked efficiently but the tip will absorb the lunges and reduce hook pulls when you do get a hit.

Remember: a wire trace is a must if you are using lures with trebles, just in case Mr. Pike turns up! Good luck for the coming season ahead...

Wychwood sponsored a 2 day Pike fly fishing association event at Rutland over the weekend. Conditions were not favourable, but 16 anglers battled it out to take home some great prizes, including our new Wychwood Agitator predator fly rods. Whilst fish were hard to tempt, a few did manage, and did so in style! Top of the table was a collosal pike of over 37lb! Well done to all those that took part.
