* Your body uses energy after the workout to restore oxygen levels, replenish energy stores, repair muscle tissue, and return various systems to their normal state.
* The harder and more intense the workout, the larger the EPOC effect tends to be.
* Heavy compound lifts (such as squats, deadlifts, rows, and presses) generally creates a larger afterburn.
