Ladies Cricket tonight.
We played Lancaster in the league, in another close fought game.
The training that we have been doing certainly paid off - tight fielding, wickets (bowled and caught) and we talked to each other out there.
What a team!
I’m a proud Ladies Captain tonight - you should all be chuffed to bits.

Our ladies had their first home game of the season tonight vs Lancaster and it was a great game of cricket to watch.
MCC batted first and scored what felt like a below par score for a team that’s stronger at getting runs. With Lancaster only needing 135 runs to win from 24 overs, it seemed like the end was nigh..
but it wasn’t! All those winter nets and Monday night training sessions finally paid off this evening! MCC ladies were fearless in the field, stopping every ball that came near them and only conceded 4 boundaries! The bowling was consistent and kept Lancaster behind the run rate. After 24 overs, the MCC ladies won by 23 runs and got their first home victory.. ever!

A huge well done to our Under 9s team who finally got a game tonight. Lancaster started with a strong batting performance but Milnthorpe stuck at it with the majority of the team making their bowling debuts in a game. Lancaster scored 293 and Milnthrope didnt quite get there, scoring 268.
Well done to all who took part. The game was played in great spirit with fantastic support from both sets of parents and coaches!

Congratulations to William Cormack on his PB bowling today representing the under 13's Northern Pyramid Inter League team v South Manchester. He recorded bowling figures of 5.1 overs 5 wickets for 20 runs. A great effort in the heat against a strong team.

**Help Milnthorpe Ladies Cricket Team Look the Part and Play Their Best**

Milnthorpe Ladies Cricket Team has had a brilliant start to the season, not just on the pitch, but in numbers too. Our team has grown, which is fantastic news for women’s cricket in our local community.

The only slight snag? Around half of our players are currently without official team tops. So while we are all one team in spirit, we are not quite matching in the wardrobe department.

We are fundraising to buy new cricket tops for our newer members, along with much-needed cricket bats, a team bag and training equipment to help us keep developing, improving and enjoying the game together.

For us, this is about more than just kit. Having a team top helps every player feel included, valued and part of something. Whether someone is brand new to cricket or is a young and up and coming star, we want them to feel like they truly belong at Milnthorpe Ladies.

Your donation, big or small, will help us pad up properly, train well and step onto the pitch looking like the team we already are.

So, if you can spare a few pounds, we would be hugely grateful. You’ll be helping grow women’s cricket locally, supporting a friendly and determined team, and saving us from the fashion crime of half a squad in borrowed, mismatched kit.

This weeks cup game was not only a fantastic result for the club, but it was also a momentous occasion as 2 of our junior players both got their maiden 50s for the 1st Xl team!

Congratulations to these 2 players on their 1st 1st team 50's, Elliott Riley 65* and Matthew Cormack 68 put on 145 for their opening partnership from just 20 overs. Darren Wills also joined in the fun with 56* to knock off the Westgate total on Saturday. Well played 👏👏👏
