Milnthorpe Ladies - what can I say
‘Super Proud of you all!’
Whilst it was not our turn to triumph against Fleetwood, you all played your hearts out.
We fielded first, the pitch was wet, and it was slippery, making chasing the ball down hard. Despite this we restricted Fleetwood to 113, and due to our three wickets we started on 15.
We batted well - Fleetwood had a strong keeper, and some good bowlers and we lost a few more wickets than we’d have liked, increasing Fleetwood’s score, and putting it just out of our reach in the final over.
Our Super 8 did brilliantly today. Our Ladies Super 8 squad have performed fantastically throughout the summer to allow a league and to be in our first semi final. I am confident there will be more.
Thank you to Longridge for hosting, to Ian and the lovely man from Fleetwood for scoring and to the two umpires.

Good luck to our Ladies Super 8 team today!

🏏 SUPER 8s FINALS DAY COMES TO LONGRIDGE! 🏆

This Sunday, we're delighted to be hosting the Northern Pyramid Women & Girls Super 8s Finals Day here at Longridge Cricket Club!

There'll be plenty of cricket to enjoy, with both the Hardball and Softball competitions taking place across our two pitches throughout the day.

🏏 Hardball
11am – Sedgwick v Penwortham
1.30pm – Blackpool v Morecambe
4.30pm – Final

🏏 Softball
11am – Fleetwood v Milnthorpe
1.30pm – Shireshead & Forton v Tarleton
4.30pm – Final

Whether you stay for a match or make a day of it, come down to the Ridge, enjoy some cricket and show your support for the women and girls game. 🙌

Evening folks. You may already know, but in case you don’t.. we have a new team this season playing in the development league. This league is aimed at those just getting into hardball or wanting to give it a go. We have a home game on Sunday at 1pm and are currently a few players short. Anyone out there that would like to pull some whites on for the 1st time? Or anyone that has some whites covered in cobwebs that they can dust off and still squeeze into?!

Congratulations go to 13 yrs old William Cormack today aka Wilba , making his maiden 50 in senior cricket for Milnthorpe 3rds vs Settle 4ths, in a 100 run partnership ! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

It is with pride and much pleasure that I can officially share that Milnthorpe Ladies have won the North One League, and have the opportunity to play in their first Finals Day on 16 August 2026.
This is only our second season, and we have worked so hard as a squad, so I thank you all for your commitment…. 🤩🙌🤩

What a fab night we had at the club on Wednesday for our Junior Presentation Evening! We began with the awards and speeches from the coaches, followed by food for the kids and a BBQ for the adults. Then it was on to slip and slide and the anticipation of the raffle followed by a little bit of cricket. The awards for each age group are as follows:

Junior cricket at Milnthorpe Cricket Club would also not be possible without our Chairman and Groundsman, Kev. He gives up so much of his time to make sure the wicket is always ready.
Finally, thank you to all those who helped out on the night and made it a brilliant evening for the club and the community.
