On Wednesday 6th May, 29 walkers turned out for an enjoyable and sunny walk taking in Doune Castle and the River Teith followed by lunch afterwards in Doune village. Photos by A & L Clark

On Saturday (25th April) the group had lovely weather for their Primrose Hill and Scenic Tower walk, in the trossachs. They started by visiting the new scenic tower above the pier for panoramic views up Loch Katrine as the mist cleared. Primrose Hill was delightful with marvellous views, primroses, birdsong, woodland and lochside beach.

On Sunday, 4 of us did a recce for a group walk on 10th May. It’s a grade A walk up Ben Challum, a fine Munro near Tyndrum. The details are on the walks and events programme on our website. The snow on the summit should have melted by then ☀️ Photos in the comments.

On a Sunday, six of us enjoyed a 9 mile hike in the Lomond Hills from Falkland. Very strong wind on the top of East Lomond resulted in a modification of the figure of 8 route to avoid getting blown off West Lomond. A great day!

On Wednesday 8th April, 32 walkers turned out for an enjoyable trail to discover the bridges and other interesting features of the River Kelvin in Glasgow’s West End. The photos were taken by Lesley & Angus Clark and Bill Faerestrand.

A good turnout for The Whangie, Auchineden Hill and Burncrooks Reservoir Walk on Sunday. There was some wintry weather at times for this 7+ mile walk from Edenmill past the Whangie and both the Burncrooks and Kilmannan Reservoirs. Quite a wind and tough going when the rain turned into hail and sleet! Yet, some nice bits of sunshine too and good views. It always feels good to get out for a walk with friends 😊

12 of us enjoyed a lovely circular walk led by Moira & Peter. We started from Auchinstarry Marina and walked up via Barr Hill Roman fort, the trig point on Castle Hill, and Croy Hill. We descended following the line of the Antonine Wall and returned to the canal and marina through woodland. We stopped to admire the 7m high steel sculpture of the head of Silvanus (Roman god of the woods). It was a lovely day in fine company and we were very lucky with the weather 😊

Eleven walkers ventured out on Sunday for the Cashel Pine Walk from Milarrochy Bay on Loch Lomond. They were rewarded with wonderful views ..

On Sunday, 8 of us enjoyed a 16km Meikle Bin (570m) circular walk. There was some low cloud as we climbed up but the sun broke through when we reached the summit and it stayed dry. We descended and continued on forest tracks and on paths around the Carron Valley Reservoir. A lovely day in fine company!

Three of us enjoyed a wild winter walk up Ben Venue on Sunday. There were snow patches above 600m, some strong gusts of wind and spectacular water falls. We were well equipped for it and it felt great to be out in the elements 😊
