Back to work.

New client joined me for the first time where we had a good look.

Its sometimes the hardest cases are helping players with great contact but below par fundamentals. I decide it was back to basics for Bob. As you can see in the video taken first, P3 is to deep and causes a closed clubface, hitting the ball hard and clean with a closed clubface is definitely not going to work.

But first fundamentals, an upgraded P2 position allowing better arm positions, making P5 and P6 easier to attain. This is far from perfect but its the start of something really good. Club was close to 6⁰ closed at the beginning, we have it 2.5⁰ constantly towards the end of the lesson.

*i know the line isn't straight, its for reference.

Happy golfing

Yeah really....

Great example of a players misconception of what he thought was square.

Setting up the irons, let's start with the wedge.

A very different way compared to the driver, irons need your input. Seeing is believing.

I was surprised with my DTL clubface position, even 2⁰ closed is enough to start seeing pulls or hard draws.

Its not so obvious until you see it yourself. This is typically happening for players that are trying to cure their slice. That 'quick fix' to stop the slice is to toe the driver in, but this is wrong. Let the sole of the club do the squaring up at address.
