To celebrate the upcoming Commonwealth Games, Carmarthen Judo Club are holding a training session!

You'll get to see the King's Baton, meet the Welsh team and meet new faces!

🥋 King’s Baton Relay Open Session at Carmarthen Judo Club

Carmarthen Judo Club will welcome the King’s Baton Relay on Saturday 20 June 2026 as part of a special open judo session for clubs, players and families.

The session will begin at 11:00am, with the King’s Baton expected to arrive at 12:30pm. Those attending will have the opportunity to see the Baton, take part in photos, and meet members of the Welsh Judo Commonwealth Games team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to bring the judo community together, celebrate a special moment and inspire players of all ages.

We are SO excited to share that Ashleigh Barnikel has been selected to represent Wales at the 2026 Commonwealth Games! 🎉

This will be Ashleigh's second time representing Wales at the Games, and is the second Welsh judoka in history to ever achieve this amazing accomplishment!

Ashleigh has worked incredibly hard to reach this goal, putting in countless hours of training, hard work and travelling literally all around the world to prepare!

We are incredibly proud of Ashleigh and her achievements and cannot wait to support her through the Games! Llongyfarchiadau i chi Ashleigh!

What a weekend for !

First up we had 3 of our mighty minis at Doraibà this morning who were all fantastic! It takes a lot of courage to step onto the tatami, and these three had it in spades! There were smiles all round and rightly so as they were just amazing 👏

Enzo earned himself a shiny Silver🥈While Rowan and Spencer earned themselves a Bronze 🥉 each 🥳

This afternoon we had our Red Belts Theo, Dylan and Betty join the fray. All three displayed some lovely techniques and real tenacity! Some great transitions and groundwork attempts and even more happy faces! 👏

Theo and Betty earned themselves a Silver medal 🥈 for their efforts and Dylan came away with a Bronze 🥉

Well done kids! 💪🥳🎉

We also had Damon and Barry up in Neath today doing Kata exams.

Damon successfully passed his Level 1 Kime-no-kata and Barry successfully passed his Level 1 Nage-No-Kata 🥳 A special shout out to Mikey for being uke today and for taking some hard landings!

Congratulations to all! A big thanks to Doraibà Judo for putting on a lovely development event! 🙏
