Sorry for the lack of info on this weekends WAKO Hungarian Kickboxing World Cup……it was a full on 2 days of competition. Full of massive highs and lows, controversy and battles on and off the matts.
Leighton performed extremely well but unfortunately lost in the second round to a very seasoned Bulgarian fighter. But the experience gained from that day and the whole week is priceless. We could not be prouder of him and his time will come 100%.
Also the experience of coaching was just as important for Kirsty and myself. For that we have to thank Kris, for giving us the opportunity and his trust to coach. But also for all the unseen work it took for him to get all the team there. It doesn’t go unnoticed or unappreciated thank you again.
Thank you to the rest of the IMAC England squad for making myself, Kirsty, Anthony and Leighton feel so welcome from day one. To all the competitors a massive well done, nobody will even know nor believe what you all had to go through just to step on the mats. But you all got on with it and performed with pride, courage and dignity. A massive congratulations to all the parents that rallied around non stop for two mega long days. You were fierce at times too 🫢
