Everyone gets excited about fitting the latest 2kW, 3kW, 5kW, 10kW, or even 28kW electric motor—and rightly so. More power means faster acceleration, higher top speeds, and an adrenaline rush that transforms any e-bike or e-scooter into a serious performance machine.

But here's the reality: if you upgrade the power, you must upgrade the stopping power too.

One of the most overlooked aspects of a high-performance build is the braking system. Bigger motors and higher speeds place enormous demands on brakes, rotors, calipers, and pads. That's why we strongly recommend high-quality braking components, properly matched hydraulic systems, and premium brake pads suited to the bike's intended use. Good brake pads can provide more consistent braking performance, better modulation, and improved confidence when slowing down from higher speeds.
