Huge congratulations to Matthew Wilson and Will Rockett on earning their blue belts! 🟦⬛️🟦

​Will "The Diamond" Rockett: The transformation over the last 6 months has been incredible. Will evolved from a purely defensive specialist—becoming notoriously difficult to submit—into a well-rounded threat. He’s now hunting for takedowns, maintaining heavy top pressure, and actively chasing his own finishes. 💎🔥

​Matthew Wilson: Matt’s journey this year has been a testament to resilience. Despite battling through various injuries, he’s returned stronger every time. Between his "mean" scarf-hold Americana and his crushing top game, he’s a handful for anyone. He earned this belt after a grueling 45-minute technical gauntlet and sparring session that proved his knowledge is just as sharp as his rolls. 👊💪

Some big and well deserved belt promotions earlier this year.

Firstly, Jordan becoming the first purple belt student of Jackson Boa BJJ, he's an absolute nightmare to roll with and definitely keeps me thinking. Always willing to help others and has become one of the coaches at the club.

Kev earning the rank of blue belt, a very technical roll and always after your legs 😁 Kev also helps out with the kids classes overseeing the next generation of grapplers 🔥

Kaleb also earning his blue belt, always gives 100%, loves to wrestle and shoot for takedowns. Oh and let's not forget a Crucifix choke 👀😂

It's been a pleasure watching both of these teens turn into young men over the past few years and too see how much their skills have progressed.

And lastly but not least my son Ethan earning the rank of grey belt. It's not come easy for him but he has persisted and is now gaining skill quickly. It was a very proud moment for me to give him this belt after all the hard work he has put in 😊

Also thanks to everyone who has attended the club past and present, I feel like we have built a great club over the past 3 years and we couldn't do it without you all 😊

- Controlling the head and shoulders (using the 2 for 1 grip)
- Low base
- Correctly applying weight
- Freeing the trapped leg

Great to have Danny pop along tonight while on holiday and Alex who will hopefully be a regular with us too . Really nice also to have Jake back with us while he’s back in the country 🤙 we are a friendly group who make everyone welcome so if your interested in joining us regardless of ability or fitness just pop along 🥋

Late Post 😅

Massive congratulations to on his promotion to blue belt. Brett is the most consistent student in the gym and has racked up plenty of hours on the mat since starting at the beginning of 2022.

He recently took gold at his last comp with 2 submission wins but to me this is a small achievement in comparison to what he has brought to the gym.

He's always willing to help new starters and even though he's been injured recently has still been coming to lessons to help out.
Brett started as an assistant coach for kids class last year, helping shape the next generation of grapplers. They have really took to him and I've had nothing but praise from both the parents and the kids.

Ive gained a formidable opponent in sparring and someone I consider a good friend aswel.
