Tonight instead of training our U10s went to Manvers Lake for an Open Water Safety Session. The children found it very informative and they all had a great time! They finished off with a lap around the lake to see if they could beat their personal bests! The sessions are on every Wednesday in June free of charge 5.30-6.30 if anyone wants to take their children 💛

Today our U10s had a friendly against Tickhill Junior Reds who are a fast passing team 3 divisions above us.

Another unbelievable performance boys, the togetherness and bonds you are all building is more important than results.

Holding a team as great as Tickhill to a 1 goal margin is exceptional. I couldn't be any prouder; I feel like I keep saying this recently because you just keep turning up! Your drive, grit and determination to all work hard for each other is why we are putting in these sublime performances!

🏆🧡 CONGRATULATIONS MEXBOROUGH KNIGHTS U8s! 🧡🏆

We are incredibly proud of our Under 8s after they were crowned winners of the annual Club Thorne Summer Tournament.

Following an impressive group stage campaign, winning two matches and drawing one whilst conceding just a single goal, the team progressed to a challenging semi-final against a strong Club Thorne side.

When faced with adversity and trailing 4-1, our young Knights showed remarkable courage, determination and resilience to battle back and level the game at 5-5 before holding their nerve to win on penalties.

The final followed a similar script. Despite finding themselves 3-1 behind, the team once again demonstrated the character, spirit and never-give-up attitude that defines Mexborough Knights. They fought back to make it 3-3 and secured the Europa League Cup with another dramatic penalty shootout victory.

While we celebrate this fantastic achievement, today’s tournament meant so much more than football. Our players and coaches proudly wore yellow armbands in memory of McKenzie Swift, a young boy whose loss has deeply affected our local community and touched the lives of many within our team.

Throughout the day there were moments of joy, emotion, tears and celebration. We hope that in some small way the courage, togetherness and spirit shown by our players today reflected the impact McKenzie had on those around him.

Our thoughts remain firmly with McKenzie’s family, friends, teammates and everyone affected by this heartbreaking loss. He was remembered throughout the day and will not be forgotten.

Well done to our brave young Knights. You represented our club, your families and your community with pride, passion and heart.

First ever tournament for our U7s today. They worked their socks off all day, showed grit and determination to keep pushing forward even when we were up against it. We lost out in the semi finals to an excellent team.

I am proud of them all and how far they’ve come. Keep going lads you are all amazing!

As the lads kept chanting at the end ‘Mexborough are massive, every where we go, every where we go!’
