I can’t stress this enough - you’re never too old - I’m 52 and still workout by running and doing strength work - the things I get the most enjoyment out of - I’ve even started going to yoga after years of resisting because I believed if my heart rate wasn’t high it didn’t count - well I’ve learned so much since those days - nutrition and rest are also very important and of course stretching out those muscles - I also love supporting everyone of all ages and abilities to keep moving and become a healthier version of themselves - by the way - doing Hyrox was not my idea!!

The question of the day

Would you rather use AI for personal training or use an actual human PT?

Reasons why you would use AI
- available 24/7
- much cheaper
- can tailor programmes
- send you reminders

Reason why you SHOULD use an actual PT

- accountability
- can identify wrong form, tiredness and imbalances by observation
- personal connection and build trust because life situations can impact upon progress

AI is great for programming but can impact negatively on you if you do exercises wrongly or require instant adaptations.

This is your sign to get in touch to discuss how I can help you reach your fitness goals!

Who gets to Friday and thinks “stuff it I’ve been good all week and I can eat what want over the weekend”

Then on Monday morning feel like you’re in a cycle of having to start again.

Here’s a few things that tend to work well:

* Don’t save calories for a big meal. Going into dinner starving often makes overeating much more likely.

* Have the pizza, dessert or takeaway if you genuinely want it, just don’t turn one indulgent meal into an entire indulgent weekend.

* Make movement enjoyable. A long walk, gym session, hike, swimming, or even getting out for the shopping all count. You don’t need to “earn” food.

* Watch the “stuff it, I’ve ruined it” thought. One high-calorie meal hasn’t undone anything. Your next choice is simply your next choice.

* Don’t dramatically restrict on Monday. Just return to your normal eating and exercise routine. Restricting after a weekend often sets up the next cycle.

* Plan treats deliberately. If you know you’ll have a restaurant meal Saturday night, that’s not something you’ve “failed” at, it’s part of the plan.

* Prioritise sleep. Poor sleep can make hunger, cravings and low motivation noticeably harder to manage.
