SO incredibly proud of Jamie!! Today he passed his STA Aquatic Award - Teaching Disability in Swimming 🥰

This is an intense & specialist course that gives a much deeper understanding of many disabilities, and allows him to take much more of a specialised role than he’s already been doing.

This area is one of Jamie’s absolute loves, and anyone who has the sessions with him knows how much he puts into them. This qualification allows him to support even more, and has equipped him with additional skills to provide Disability and SEND lessons.

Jamie has been looking forward to doing this for a long time. He smashed it, and he can now add this to his specialisms!

💫 Jamie is now able to:

🔵 award the Emperor Penguin series of badges,

🔵 assess and adjust other STA level awards to suit an individual’s needs, where required

🔵 teach specialist lessons which include a more in depth understanding of need and requirements, incorporating more in depth lesson plans, and plans of action over a long time period

🔵 I can’t put into words all Jamie can now offer, but he is so excited to have gained the training he has so he can create truly fantastic & individual sessions for all!

The collectible range of swimming awards feature the six main pups from PAW Patrol - Chase, Marshall, Rubble, Skye, Zuma, and Rocky – with each focusing on one of the pups’ characteristics and their individual catch phrases from the TV show.

This PAW-some awards scheme gives swimming teachers the opportunity and freedom to reward important milestones, achievements and behaviours, in line with each of the pups’ personality traits.

There are no specific learning
outcomes, so a space has been left on each certificate for swimming teachers to add in a personalised achievement.

The empowering ethos behind the PAW Patrol brand and the positivity of the inclusive messages
portrayed by the pups, who say “no job is too big, no pup is too small” ties perfectly with STA's ethos:
to help motivate and reward children of all abilities in swimming lessons for their individual endeavours, no matter how big or small they may be!

👶🏻🐠 Baby Swimming Groups 🐠👶🏻

We have new spaces for babies, birth to 18 months old!

• Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday & Sunday mornings.
• Saturday all day.

Taught in a private heated pool in Messingham.

We do have some spaces for other ages also (up to 4 years old for baby/preschool), as well as some private 1:2 after school sessions for ages 4+, and SEND 1:1 lessons for all ages.

💫 Lesson updates! For May 💫

As we have had some little pre school swimmers graduate into our 1:2 “big lessons” we have some slots available in pre school classes ☺️

We also have yet more new slots opening on a Friday morning as this day has been soooo popular! These spaces are booking up so fast!

There are the odd couple of spaces in our 1:2 lessons also - some new SEND slots too with Jamie!

🌟 Exciting News! 🌟

New badges to complement the Rockhopper series! ...

🐧 The Emperor Series 🐧

In May, Jamie will be continuing on his professional development within SEND and Disability swimming, with the STA ☺️

Jamie will complete his STA Award in Aquatic Teaching: Disability Swimming, which further qualifies Jamie to teach aquatic activities to disabled individuals and groups. It is for those who wish to, or already, work with participants who have a disability in mainstream or disability swimming lessons, and help them develop both as swimmers and as individuals in the aquatic environment.

An amazing qualification! And another string to Jamie's already impressive bow, within the SEND and Disability swimming sector.
This qualification ALSO allows Jamie to assess and award the Emperor Series of distance awards!! These awards enable swimmers to increase their strength and stamina by swimming in their own style, using adapted strokes, over distances from 5 metres to 400 metres.

The Emperor Awards will only be available for assessment and award by Jamie, a fully qualified STA Disability Swimming Instructor, at our schools.

Each award has its own full-colour A4 certificate and a woven badge 🥰

Lesson slots 😁🫧 with us both at JRK Swim Academy and Squidlets Aqua Academy 💫

If you would like to join us for our baby and preschool sessions please drop us a message! We have some brand new slots on a Friday morning for all ages! (We do also teach ages 4+ in 1:2 classes on some weekday evenings)

Babies can join us from birth, and toddlers can attend the groups up to 4 years old 🐠

We do have other days we teach also, but some classes are very limited/full:
- Tue AM, Wed AM, Sat and Sun AM.

We are looking to open preschool and baby sessions on a Friday morning!

Currently this would be open to new swimmers only, however, we can look to transfer existing swimmers over in the future, once we have established some classes if you’d like to swap days ☺️
