⚠️ Vandalism at The Wern – We Need Your Help!

​Earlier this evening, a small group of individuals attempted to set fire to our artificial playing surface. This isn't just 'kids being kids' it was a deliberate attempt to damage a facility that costs hundreds of thousands of pounds and serves the entire community.

Due to this incident, we are forced to move to a zero tolerance policy.

🚫 NO unauthorized attendance at The Wern.

✅ ONLY those here for arranged training or matchdays are permitted to enter the facility. Only those playing, permitted to enter the field of play.

👨‍👩‍👧 MANDATORY Adult / Parental supervision for all Under17s.

​How you can help.

We are working closely with South Wales Police and reviewing multiple CCTV sources.

If you live on the Ynysfach Estate and saw anything this evening or have information that could identify those involved, please message us directly.

If you are a parent / guardian please ensure you discourage visiting, without a reason to do so. The Wern facility is NOT a meeting point, unauthorised attendance will be treated as trespass.

What a fantastic night we had Saturday night.. Merthyr youth presantion 24/25.. its been a real blast lads.. congratulations to the boys who picked up awards but to us you have all been amazing this year.. good luck to the boys leaving this year hopefully stay with rugby .. and good luck to the boys staying for another year let’s do the Cardiff blues cup double.. the targets are on the backs lol..big thank you to flowers by Hamilton for some stunning flowers again this year ..

Team Youth win away at Barry RFC.

Match Report: Merthyr Youth are back to winning ways with a 28-14 away victory in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Merthyr started strongly, with Finn opening the scoring early on after some slick handling out wide. Morgan Price added the conversion to give the visitors a 7-0 lead. The hosts hit back quickly with a converted try of their own to level things at 7-7.

Undeterred, Merthyr regained the lead through Dacey, who crashed over following a sustained spell of pressure. Price was again on target with the extras to make it 14-7.

The second half saw Merthyr take further control as Conrad powered through the defence for another well-worked try, with Price keeping his 100% kicking record intact to stretch the lead to 21-7. The home side briefly threatened a comeback with a converted try, closing the gap to 21-14, but Merthyr responded in style.

Morgan Culverhouse finished off a flowing move to secure the bonus-point try, and Price rounded off a flawless kicking display with his fourth conversion, sealing a deserved 28-14 win.

It was a disciplined and clinical performance from the Merthyr boys, who showed great character and control throughout to get back on track with a confidence-boosting victory away from home.

Well we back in league action Saturday away to Caldicot . It’s 14.30 ko .. we got a large bus leaving the wern at 12.00 .. quite a few seats left on bus if anyone wants a lift.. just a small charge.. let brookesy know so he can book you on.. let’s get behind the young ironmen !!
